Beijing, 16th December, 2020 (BISTU)— BISTU Commendation Meeting on Employment of Graduating Students in 2020 & Kick-off Meeting for Students’ Employment in 2021 successfully completes at Xiaoying Campus on 16th December 2020. The meeting, attended by Secretary Wang Chuanliang of CCP BISTU Committee, President Wang Yongsheng, Deputy Secretary Zhou Zhicheng of CCP BISTU Committee, Vice President Zhang Lin, deans of schools, and directors of divisions, is aimed at commending schools, divisions, offices, departments, and individual of excellence in facilitating students’ employment and summarizing students’ employment in 2020 while making plans for students’ employment in the coming year.
Wang Chuanliang and Wang Yongsheng presents medals and certificates for units, collectives and individual who have made excellent contributions to students’ employment in 2020.
Wang Chuanliang speaks highly of achievements the University has made in respect of facilitating students’ employment. He emphasizes that the University, as a whole unite, has coordinated strength to overcome difficulties and face with challenges. He points out that firstly a deep understanding of current situation for students’ employment shall be obtained. We all shall be aware of the important implications of facilitate employment of graduating students in 2021. The decisions and policy of Central Party Committee on stability of students’ employment shall be firmly implemented. The University shall actively participate in the campaign of Ministry of Education on facilitation of students’ employment in 2021. Supporting system at the University for students’ employment would be further perfected. Great efforts are to be invested in quality employment of students graduating in 2021. Service shall be provided for construction of the new development pattern with domestic internal circulation as the main body and dual circulation of international and domestic markets as measures of mutual support. Secondly, various measures shall be taken to facilitate students’ employment of this year. Wang Chuanliang points out that an overall understanding of progress of students’ employment is necessary. Guidance on job-hunting shall be further enhanced with ideological education being embedded in the whole process of job-hunting guidance and service for employment. Channels for students’ job-hunting shall be expanded. Key support will be provided with those in need. And efforts shall be invested in statistics of employment. Information in this regard shall be authentic and accurate. And thirdly, organizational leadership of the University shall be strengthened, i.e., coordinated strength will be invested in facilitating students’ employment. All divisions, offices, departments and schools shall work actively together and seriously implement decisions and policies in this regard. Furthermore, attention shall be paid to risk prevention and maintenance of stability so that quality employment of students graduating in 2021 would be achieved.
Wang Yongsheng extends warm congratulations to units, collectives and individuals commended on the Meeting and sincere thanks to all faculties and staff devoted themselves to students’ employment. Reviewing achievements the University has made in students’ employment in 2020, Wang Yongsheng stresses that the year 2020 has witnessed increasing pressure on students’ employment due to a number of factors home and abroad. However, with joint efforts of all divisions, offices and schools, the University has successfully reached the goal of “urging students to find jobs and making sure they find the job they want”. The impact of severe domestic and international economic scenarios upon employment of graduating students in 2020 has been minimized to a controllable scope. This is quite an achievement. Wang Yongsheng offers an analysis of situations and challenges with which graduating students in 2021. He points out that the new situation has raised higher requirements on cultivation of innovative talents, enhancement of competence in science and technology innovation, and improvement of educational quality. And thus new expectation and requirements have been raised for students’ employment. All units of the University shall seriously implement the spirit of the fifth Plenary Session of the 19th National Congress of CCP and policies of the Party, State Council, and Beijing Municipality in respect of stability in students’ employment. All measures taken shall closely follow the fundamental mission in teachers’ code of morality and the educational orientation of the University in respect of applied learning. In short, a long-term, overall planning is necessary to facilitate quality employment of graduating students in 2021.
