Deputy Director General Zhang Yongkai of Beijing Municipal Educational Commission Visits BISTU for Epidemic Control and Graduate Affairs

Beijing, 23rd June, 2020 (BISTU)— BISTU welcomes delegation of Beijing Municipal Educational Commission, headed by Deputy Director General Zhang Yongkai and attended by Director Yao Linxiu of Development and Planning Department of Beijing Municipal Educational Commission and Wang Xin from the Department, for inspection of epidemic control and graduate affairs. The inspection is attended by President Wang Yongsheng, Vice President Yu Shijie, and Liaison officer Zhong Zhigang.    


After checking the body temperature screening facilities at the main gate of BISTU and learning more about policies and measures on entering and leaving the campus, Zhang Yongkai says that faculties and staff shall first protect themselves and shall make detailed registration for entry and exit from the gate whenever possible. We shall do our best to keep a safe campus. Zhang Yongkai says.  


Then the delegation visits canteen of the University and learns about epidemic containment measures, supply channel, procedure of transfer of foods, etc. They have also checked carefully the records of disinfection and sterilization as well as records of body temperature of faculties and staff working in logistics department. He emphasizes that the University canteen shall lay equal attention to food hygiene and food safety.  


Zhang Yongkai also asks about the information on recent graduates in 2020 and details on their job-hunting. He positively comments that BISTU has done a lot in entry and exit control, logistics, management of canteens as well as taking care of luggage of recent graduates, offering support with recent graduates, etc. Zhang Yongkai says that epidemic containment in the near future requests us to strengthen comprehensive management of the campuses, with particular attention paid to foods and food ingredients at canteens. We shall make thorough preparations for documentation and office work relating to graduation of students this year while making practical planning for the next semester. Luggage of recent graduates in 2020 shall be carefully handled and stored. We are fully aware of the difficulties with which faculties, staff and students are facing now. Universities shall offer due support in psychological consultancy. Attention shall also be paid to food hygiene and safety while sparing no efforts to epidemic containment.  


During the inspection, Wang Yongsheng delivers a detailed report on measures BISTU has taken to secure epidemic containment and progresses BISTU has made in graduate affairs. Wang Yongsheng says that BISTU will firmly implement decisions made by CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and Beijing Municipal Government and lay stresses upon normalized epidemic containment on campus. We will hold onto closed-off campus management, strengthen epidemic control measures with logistics faculties and staff, and try our best to identify all kinds of hidden risks. Meanwhile, the University will conduct extensive investigation and survey so as to make scientific plans for graduate affairs and issues relating to the coming new semester. We are confident and convinced that we will work carefully and diligently to win this battle against COVID-19..
