Wang Yongsheng Host Meetings on Working Issues of the University for Normalized Epidemic Containment

Beijing, 22nd April, 2020 (BISTU)— A series of meetings are hosted from 20th to 22nd April 2020 by President Wang Yongsheng on New Campus construction, students’ education and management, logistics service, etc., for normalized epidemic containment. The meetings are attended by Deputy Secretary General Wang Xiuyan of CPC BISTU Committee, Vice President Liu Yong, Vice President Xu Baojie, Vice President Ma Qinghong, Vice President Yu Shijie, Assistant to VP Luan Zhongquan, Assistant to VP Lin Guoce, and directors of relating divisions.  

  

  

  

Wang Yongsheng stresses that the epidemic in general has been contained in China and epidemic containment has now been normalized, which raises higher, fresher requirements upon all faculties and staff of the University. We shall strictly adhere to instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on epidemic containment and working arrangements of Beijing Municipality. We shall enhance our political awareness and march steadily forward to make sound arrangement for normalized containment of the epidemic.  

  

Wang Yongsheng speaks positively of achievements and working arrangements on New Campus construction, students’ education and management, and logistics service and raises requirements for arrangements on the next stage. He points out that construction of the New Campus has now been fully restored and relating staff and faculties have been in work. All BISTU divisions, offices and departments shall work coordinately together, shoulder their responsibilities, and make thorough, detailed re-location plan for the University. We shall actively negotiate with local governments and win support from them. Attention shall be paid to fire control. With regard to education, it is necessary to put emphasis on online teaching and supervision while making sound arrangements for examinations and assessments. Ideological dynamics of students shall be studied and proper psychological consultancy shall be offered with students to help them solve difficulties in life and learning. Attention shall also be paid to graduation issues of graduating students, including career guidance and supervision, service provided for job-hunting, arrangements for graduation thesis, etc. We shall scientifically recognize and make scientific judgment on the new situation of the epidemic containment. Scientific planning shall be made with priority being offered to security and safety while providing orderly service in logistics. And we shall also strengthen psychological health of staff and faculties and guide them in being accustomed to working at home. Then we would creatively turn the weakness of working away from home into an advantage, which can lower the influence of the epidemic as much as possible.
