Launching Ceremony of Studying Abroad Programs in 2019 Summer Holiday Successfully Concludes

Beijing, 28th June, 2019, (BISTU)— Launching Ceremony of Studying Abroad Programs in 2019 Summer Holiday, attended by over 200 students and faculties of 16 groups who are to attend various study abroad programs, successfully completes on Xiaoying Campus on 26th June 2019. The ceremony, addressed by Vice President Chen Gang, is hosted by Dr. Lu Jing, Director of International Cooperation Department.  

 

In his pep talk, Chen Gang says that the University puts confidence and expectations in all groups. It is hoped that all students and faculties who are to participate in studying abroad programs shall be ambitious and love our motherland, bear in mind our motto “diligence in learning and honor for life”, hold onto the principle of equality and mutual learning, conform to all regulations for safety purpose, and make sound preparations.  

 

Prior to flag-presentation ceremony, keynote speeches are respectively delivered by Director Mi Jie of Academic Affairs Office, Executive Vice Dean Wang Xingfen of Postgraduate School, and Director Cui Kai of Office for Safety and Security. They reiterate the importance of broadening international horizon, encourage them to cherish the valuable opportunities, show the best of our university, and make sure of personal safety.  

On the flag-presentation ceremony, deans and directors present the flags to team leaders and encourage them to accomplish the mission of studying abroad. A short movie on studying abroad and world culture is then played for the ceremony.   

 

International Cooperation Department has well planned studying abroad programs of the University to implement spirit of talent cultivation of Ministry of Education while considering actual requirements of BISTU conference on undergraduate teaching and future approval of doctoral programs. And thus some traditional projects are kept, i.e., “data mining and business intelligence” at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel and “globalized entrepreneurial talents” at Waseda University, some projects are enhanced, such as encouraging BISTU robot football team to attend Robocup robot football contest to be held in Australia, and some new projects are explored, i.e., innovative field practice project organized by BISTU School of Instrumentation Science and Opto-electronics Engineering at Dresden University. The Department also selects some excellent students to participate in academic visit to Poland organized by “China-Poland University League”.
