BISTU I-KID Wins 4th Straight Victory in RoboCup Technical Challenges

Beijing, 22nd May 2024 (BISTU)--- The just-concluded finals of the 2024 China Robot Competition and the RoboCup China Open held from 16th to 19th May 2024 in Quanzhou, Fujian province saw BISTU I-KID (robotic football team organized by School of Instrumentation Science and Opto-electronic Engineering) win the fourth straight victory in Technical Challenges, plus a third prize in 4v4 football match. The Competition was composed of robotic football match, rescue match, and family-robot match, etc. and attracted a number of high-level teams from universities such as Tsinghua University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Southeast University, Guangdong University of Technology, etc.  

Consisting of 12 students and 3 supervising teachers of School of Instrumentation Science and Opto-electronic Engineering, I-KID completed three parts of the contest, i.e., High Kick、Goal Kick from Moving Ball、Parkour, with outstanding skills and performances and finally became a repeat champion, i.e., the fourth champion in a row.  

School of Instrumentation Science and Opto-electronic Engineering has been for years encouraging students to participate in various extracurricular activities such as subject-based competitions, which laid a solid foundation for nurturing high-quality talents of applied learning.  

Team members of I-KID established in 2010 are postgraduates majoring in instrumentation science and technology and electronic information and undergraduates majoring in measurement and control technology and instrument, intellisense engineering, and photo electronic information science and engineering. Striving for excellence, innovation, and team cooperation, they have built up a coordinated, supplementary working model and successfully applied interdisciplinary knowledge to design and development of robots.
