Beijing No. 11 Middle School Delegation Visited BISTU

Beijing, 22nd May 2024 (BISTU)--- President Guo Fu met with delegation of Beijing No. 11 Middle School headed by Principal Wang Meng on 22nd May 2024.  


Guo Fu extended warm welcome to Principal Wang Meng and delegation members and offered an introduction to layout of educational resources and supporting facilities of the New Campus.  


Guo Fu explained the achievements that we have made in talent cultivation, reform of admissions, and inter-school academic exchange and communication. He expressed that Beijing No. 11 Middle School has been constantly updating the school-running philosophies, focusing on artificial intelligence, and reforming the model of talent cultivation. It was hoped that both institutions, on the basis of the premium student pool, would explore cooperation on a wider scope of areas to build up a coordinated model of talent cultivation.  

Wang Meng explained the reform and innovative practices of the School in cultivating outstanding talents while laying focus in four major areas, i.e., artificial intelligence, humanities and economics, bio-chemistry, and astronautics. With BISTU’s academic strengths and distinctive feature in information technology, in-depth cooperation could be conducted in academic activities, educational models, and course development. She added.  


Two seminars then were held for delegation members of Beijing No. 11 Middle School, i.e., “Exploration and practices of intelligent unmanned systems” by Associate Professor Chen Qili of Automation School and “The past, present, and future of Artificial Intelligence at BISTU” by Associate Professor Li Lu of Automation School.  




The delegation members visited BISTU University History Gallery, MOE Key Laboratory of Modern Measurement and Control Technology, intelligent classrooms, and information control center to learn about the university culture, research strengths, innovative practices and achievements in research, construction of intelligent campus, and the interactive, intelligent teaching at the University.  


The survey was joined by Vice President Wang Xingfen, faculty and staff of Beijing No. 11 Middle School including Vice Principal Qiang Lihong, Director Jiao Jifeng of General Administration Office, Executive Vice Principal Wu Yukun of Jingzhongjie Primary School attached to Beijing No. 11 Middle School, and Vice Principal Bai Cantian of Andingli Primary School attached to Beijing No. 11 Middle School, and faculty and staff of BISTU including deans of School of Automation and directors of Office for Admissions and Career Consultation, Office for Scientific Research, Information and Network Center, and University History Gallery.
