【Academician Seminar】Prof. Liu Xuanzhe Delivered Academic Report at BISTU

Beijing, 20th May 2024 (BISTU)--- Prof. Liu Xuanzhe, winner of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, Endowed Boya Distinguished Professor at the School of Computer Science in Peking University, Deputy Director of Institute of Software of Peking University, and outstanding scientist of ACM (Association for Computing Machinery), was invited to delivered an academic report titled “System software stack in the era of ‘large’ model” on 17th May 2024.


Chairlady Hou Xia and Vice Dean Liu Xiulei of Computer Science School extended warm welcome to Prof. Liu Xuanzhe and the team members of “CCF embracing universities”.

Prof. Liu Xuanzhe explained the new wave of intelligence represented by large model applications such as LLM and SoRA. He illustrated three major challenges with which development of large model is facing: increasingly complicated model structure, growing scale of applications, and the still-increasing computational bottleneck. His academic report also covered issues on new problems and opportunities that large-scale system software is encountering.

As a high-level academic exchange and communication event, Academician Seminar aimed to bring the role of academic exchange and cooperation in guiding sci-tech innovation into full play, cultivate a sound atmosphere for academic research, and enhance the quality of talent cultivation.
