Prof. Zhemin Wang of University of Wisconsin-Parkside Delivered Academic Report at BISTU

Beijing, 17th May 2024 (BISTU)--- Prof. Zhemin Wang, full professor in accounting and Director of Global Education at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, was invited to delivered an academic report at BISTU on 15th May 2024.  School of Economics and Management extended warm greetings to Prof. Wang and expressed gratitude for his care and support with BISTU student studying with the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. In-depth discussions then were held on AACSB accreditation and cooperative projects.  

Prof. Zhemin Wang raised a question on accounting embracing the era of artificial intelligence, followed by cases of changes in and influences on accounting coming along with artificial intelligence. He suggested that students should be well prepared in three aspects. First, it was necessary to grasp new technologies and new methods. Companies in the future will be in need of accounting talents with critical and strategic thinking who are capable of supporting decision-making and cost control. Second, students shall arm themselves with interdisciplinary knowledge, such as knowledge and skills in computer, management, and finance. And third, interpersonal communication skills are the most important.  

He then offered an introduction to the 3+1+1 program between BISTU and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and exchange thoughts with students on career development and studying abroad issues.  

The cooperation between BISTU and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, commenced in 2008, has witnessed over a hundred faculty and students in the past exchange programs. School of Economics and Management would continue to promote global communication and cooperation and strengthen collaboration with global partners to nurture high-quality talents with global horizon and cross-cultural communication competence.  

The meeting was joined by Vice Dean He Qiong and Vice Dean Liao Ganli of School of Economics and Management as well as over a hundred faculty and students of Accounting Department.
