Beijing, 17th May 2024 (BISTU)--- Sponsored by Qingdao University of Technology and co-organized by BISTU, Tsinghua University, Tianjin University, Hebei University of Technology, Zhejiang University, University of Huddersfield, Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology, Taiyuan University of Technology, and Beijing Institute of Technology Zhuhai, the International Workshop on Fault Diagnostics and Prognostics of the Efficiency and Performance Engineering Network (TEPEN2024-IWFDP) was successfully held at Qingdao of Shandong Province from 8th to 10th May 2024.  


The workshop aims to provide an effective knowledge-sharing and exchange platform for field practitioners, specialists, academics and research students in machine and structural health monitoring, non-destructive testing and fault detection, diagnostic and prognostic for both operational and manufacturing processes. The workshop is featured with keynote speeches by renowned scholars and researchers, a panel discussion on the new trends, opportunities and challenges in the era of Industry 4.0 by well-established industry leaders and researchers, as well as parallel technical sessions. Around 200 experts and representatives from universities, research institutes and industries joined the Conference. Some overseas experts shared their speeches via video links.  

Keynote speeches of 9th May 2023 on prognostics and reliability, intelligent maintenance, signal and image processing, maintenance optimization and asset management, etc., were respectively delivered by Prof. Wade Smith of New South Wales University, Prof. Jyoti Sinha of the University of Manchester, Prof. Yuchun Xu of Aston University, Prof. Ding Qian of Tianjin University, Prof. Ouyang Huajiang of Southwest Jiaotong University, Prof. Yang Shixi of Zhejiang University, Prof. Yan Ruqiang of Xian Jiaotong University, Prof. He Qingbo of Shanghai Jiaotong University, Prof. Wang Youqing of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Prof. Cai Baoping of China University of Petroleum, Prof. Zhen Dong of Hebei University of Technology, Prof. Niu Gang of Tongji University, and Associate Prof. Yu Gang of Jinan University.  

The expert discussion chaired by Prof. Zuo Mingjian, fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, witnessed experience sharing and discussions among Prof. Chu Fulei of Tsinghua University, Prof. Huang Han of Sun Yat-sen University, Prof. Wang Hongjun of BISTU, Prof. Wenxian Yang of University of Huddersfield, and Associate Prof. Wang Dong of Shanghai Jiaotong University.  



The 20 sub-venues of the Conference on 10th May saw experts and scholars discussing the latest research progresses and engineering application in the field of prognostics and reliability in the era of Industry 4.0. Faculty and postgraduate students of Beijing International Science and Technology Cooperation Base for Intellisense of High-end Equipment and Beijing Municipal Key Laboratory of Electromechanical System Measurement and Control joined the discussion and delivered 9 academic reports.  

The Conference offered a platform for young scholars to exchange and discuss with leading experts home and abroad, strengthened academic influence of BISTU, and carried important implications for nurturing new generation of research talents at BISTU.
