The event, aiming to provide one-stop service with Gaokao attendees and their parents in respect of exams, college preferences, and college admissions, was joined by 45 Beijing-based universities, including Beihang University, Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing Institute of Technology, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Beijing Normal University, China University of Political Science and Law, Beijing University of Technology, etc.

The event saw Chairman Xie Jiangling of University Council, President Guo Fu, and Vice President Wang Xingfen communicate with Gaokao attendees and their parents and extend thanks to staff of BISTU and representatives of other institutions.

BISTU announced the educational plans for integrated undergraduate-postgraduate programs and diligence & honor experimental classes and explained admissions policies and admissions in the past years. Gaokao attendees and their parents got satisfactory answers to their questions like “what is the leading program at BISTU”, “how can we be admitted to the experimental classes”, “what are the halls of residence like on the new campus”, “will we have a chance to switch to other programs”, etc.

BISTU Rabbit, an intelligent robot developed by a BISTU student team, joined as a publicist of admissions. It showed BISTU’s strengths in information-related programs and achievements in commercialization of research achievements and attracted attention of quite some Gaokao attendees.

It should be noted that the year 2024 marked the very first year that BISTU established the Institute of Diligence and Honor composed of two classes, i.e., the Class of Honor chaired by Chairman of the University Council and the Class of Diligence by the President. The relatively small-sized classes were carried with a mentoring system, a complete credit point system, and an individualized, globalized model of cultivation. It was aimed to nurture high-quality, trans-disciplinary, innovative talents in digital and intelligent technology.
