Xie Jiangling Conducted Survey at Guangdong and Jiangsu to Promote Zhangjiakou Campus Construction

Beijing, 24th March 2023 (BISTU)--- BISTU Delegation headed by Chairman Xie Jiangling of University Council conducted survey from 20th March to 22nd March 2024 at Beijing Normal University at Zhuhai, Beijing Institute of Technology, Zhuhai, Suzhou University, Renmin University of China, Suzhou Campus, China Electronics Corporation, and Shenzhen Park of Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone, aiming at taking measures to optimize educational resources allocation in areas around Beijing, promoting Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development by means of education, science and technology, and talent, and boosting construction of BISTU Zhangjiakou Campus.  

Executive Vice President Wang Shoujun and Vice Chairlady Wei Wei of the University Council of Beijing Normal University met with BISTU delegation at Beijing Normal University at Zhuhai. Wei Wei offered an introduction to development history, school-running orientation, talent cultivation, academic disciplines, and faculty & staff and shared experiences of campus management of Beijing Normal University at Zhuhai. Xie Jiangling expressed that the successful experiences and practices of Beijing Normal University were reflected in the beautiful campus and both campuses planned, progressed and presented as one university in accordance with the university's development strategy of "One University, Two Campuses" and the principle of "High Standard, New Mechanism and Internationalization". Experiences and practice of Beijing Normal University at Zhuhai in faculty, funding, assets, and management would provide valuable reference to BISTU in building Zhangjiakou Campus.  

         

 A campus tour then was arranged for BISTU delegation at Beijing Normal University at Zhuhai.  

Vice President Zou Meishuai of Beijing Institute of Technology met with BISTU delegation at Beijing Institute of Technology, Zhuhai. Zou Meishuai offered a brief introduction to Beijing Institute of Technology, Zhuhai. He pointed out that Beijing Institute of Technology, Zhuhai is one of the five campuses of Beijing Institute of Technology and will become a special zone of the University with great vitality and strong international competitiveness to support the Greater Bay Area and social economic development of Zhuhai. It would also be a new engine for Beijing Institute of Technology. Xie Jiangling then offered an introduction to BISTU in respect of historical development, school-running orientation, educational features, talent cultivation, academic research, and social service. He explained the strategic planning and relating issues concerning Zhangjiakou Campus.  

Both institutions then conducted in-depth communication on cross-regional school-running.  

 

Vice Chairman Deng Min of Suzhou University met with BISTU delegation. Following the introduction to Suzhou University by Deng Min, directors and deans of Suzhou University divisions and schools shared experiences on academic disciplines, industry-education integration, and multi-campus management. Xie Jiangling said that Suzhou University has a long history and rich culture and has made remarkable achievements in recent years. BISTU now is entering into a new development phase. We look forward to learning from successful experiences and practices of Suzhou University and hope to strengthen exchange and communication to make greater contributions to high-quality development.  

Deputy Director Wang Xiaohu of Management Committee of Renmin University of China, Suzhou Campus (Dean of Sino-French Institute) and Chairman Wu Cong of Campus Council met with BISTU delegation. Wang Xiaohu extended warm welcome to Xie Jiangling and delegation members. Wu Cong offered a detailed introduction to development, current progress, and school-running orientation of the Campus as well as experiences and practices of management and faculty development. Xie Jiangling shared his thinking on actively exploring how to provide effective support with social and economic development in areas around Beijing via educational means. As an alumnus of Renmin University of China, he expressed that he felt the warmth of Renmin University of China, Suzhou Campus and was very proud of the achievements of the University. Successes of the Suzhou Campus would be a great reference for BISTU in building Zhangjiakou Campus. He added. 

  

A campus tour of Renmin University of China, Suzhou Campus then was arranged for BISTU delegation.  

Deputy General Manager Xie Qinglin and Director Li Ruitao of General Administration Office of China Electronics Corporation met with BISTU delegation. Having graduated in 1996 from Information Management and Information System, Xie Qinglin is an alumnus of BISTU. He said that he was happy to meet with faculty of the alma mater and was very proud of the achievements that BISTU has made in recent years. He added that both parties should strengthen communication and he would like to contribute more to development of BISTU. Detailed introductions of the Corporation were offered by Li Ruitao and directors of strategic cooperation, science and technological development, and human resources. Xie Jiangling expressed thanks to Xie Qinglin for his support with BISTU. China Electronics Corporation is the birth-place of electronic industry of China and a pioneer of electronic studies in China. Its contribution to modernization of governance, high-quality development of digital economy, and network security has been remarkable. The academic strengths and educational features of BISTU find resonance in corporate demand of China Electronics Corporation. It was hoped that both parties would strengthen communication to jointly contribute to high-quality development of our economy and society.  

  

After the visit to China Electronics Corporation, Xie Jiangling and delegation members then visited Shenzhen Park of Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone to explore issues concerning industry-education integration, science-education integration, and innovative practices.  

  

  

The survey was also joined by Vice President Xiao Zhisong, Director Du Shizhi of Publicity Department (Member of University Council), Assistant to VP Zheng Yanpu, and directors of General Administration Office and External Liaison Office.
