Beijing, 24th September, 2020 (BISTU)— The grand opening ceremony for over 3,500 new students enrolled in 2020 at BISTU successfully completes simultaneously at Xiaoying Campus, Qinghe Campus, and Jianxiangqiao Campus. Following the ceremony of raising the national flag and playing the national anthem, Wang Yongsheng addresses the Ceremony. On behalf of the University, Wang Yongsheng extends warmest welcome to all new students. He briefly introduces history of BISTU and encourages all students to seize the opportunities of learning. He shares with all new students the expectations in three aspects. Firstly, we shall be brave in shouldering our responsibilities and aspire to work for more noble ambitions. Noble ambitions are the prerequisite for the youth to shine. Using the late professor Zhang Fuxue as a role model, Wang Yongsheng says young students shall set noble ambitions, be brave in shouldering responsibilities, and keep up pace with the times. Secondly, we shall learn and think and be courageous to march forward. Realization of noble ambitions depends on learning with perseverance. Wang Yongsheng hopes that students will devote themselves to social development, broaden their horizon, keep up pace with our times, and ponder the relationship between knowledge and application, between individual and our times, and between individual development and national development. And thirdly, it is a must to attach enough importance to virtues and embark on the right journey to your future. What the great learning teaches, is to illustrate illustrious virtue; to renovate the people; and to rest in the highest excellence. “The highest excellence” does not only refer to perfection in the structure of your knowledge but also refinement of your virtues and personalities. Wang Yongsheng sincerely hopes that students, in the following three or four years, will pay equal attention to building personalities and perfecting virtues while working hard for academic progress. He hopes that new students will make a firm first step of life and he is convinced that their youth will be a shining one!

Then they would make the best of themselves.
Zhou Zicheng, the representative of new undergraduate students, expresses that this year has offered the most special national entrance examination. However, the efforts have been paid and everyone here is with their ideal university. Address of the President clarifies their future objectives.
