Beijing, 28th June, 2019, (BISTU)— BISTU delegation headed by Secretary General Wang Chuanliang of CPC BISTU Committee and President Wang Yongsheng visits Tsinghua University for learning and exchange purpose on 27th June 2019. The delegation members include Vice President Xu Baojie, Director Lu Lei of Organizational Department (and member of standing committee of CPC BISTU Committee), and directors of relating divisions.
Secretary Chen Xu of CPC Tsinghua University Committee meets with Wang Chuanliang, Wang Yongsheng and delegation members. Chen Xu expresses that exchange and cooperation between BISTU and Tsinghua University has a long history and a solid foundation. Co-construction of academic disciplines has witnessed increasingly frequent communication and closer friendship between the two institutions. It is hoped that BISTU and Tsinghua University would explore feasibilities of cooperation in the field of campus culture, academic programs, and talent cultivation so as to better serve development of Beijing.
Wang Chuanliang and Wang Yongsheng introduce history, status quo and prospectus of BISTU as well as historical relations between BISTU and Tsinghua University. They extend sincere thanks to Tsinghua University for support and help in talent cultivation and academic research. They hope that the two institutions would strengthen communication and exchange, deepen collaboration, and enhance friendship.
A seminar then is organized for talks between BISTU delegation and Vice President You Zheng of Tsinghua University and Prof. Yu Dingwen, Assistant to Vice President of Tsinghua University.
Wang Chuanliang expresses that historical ties and long-established friendship between the two universities is a good premise for future collaboration. Co-construction of advanced, high precision academic disciplines and joint labs has offered great help with BISTU. Visiting Tsinghua University is for learning purpose with focus on both teaching and academic research and successful experiences of Tsinghua University in respect of university culture, party building, and leadership of the Party.
Wang Yongsheng says that strengthening collaboration and exchange with Tsinghua University has strategic implications for BISTU. Previous cooperation has laid solid foundation for both institutions and helped BISTU make some achievements in building a high level university with distinctive feature in information technology. We sincerely hope that both institutions bring strengths into full play, center on “construction of Beijing as four centers”, sign overall cooperative agreement, and make new breakthroughs in academic discipline, teaching, and construction of research platforms.
You Zheng says that Tsinghua University attaches great importance to cooperation with local governments and other universities and spares no effort to supporting development of Beijing and talent cultivation in universities under supervision of Beijing Municipality. Following smooth progress of cooperative projects between the two universities, details would be explored in respect of construction of academic discipline, sharing teaching resources, faculties exchange, etc.
Xu Baojie expresses that solid foundation of previous cooperation is to be followed by more support in construction of academic programs, more teaching resources, and new mode of talent cultivation. Exploration could also be conducted in respect of graduation thesis, subject contest, and faculty development.
Both universities also communicate and exchange ideas on details of future cooperation in the field of construction of academic disciplines, academic research, joint programs on postgraduate level, and joint academic research projects.
