Beijing, 17th September, 2020 (BISTU)— The list published by Beijing Municipal Intellectual Property Office on 14th September announces that BISTU is accredited as one of the municipal model institutions of intellectual property of 2020.
According to regulations of Beijing Intellectual Property Office and relating notices published, the Office has organized the application for pilot model institutions of intellectual property among institutions in Beijing. BISTU Scientific Research Office, based on academic strengths of the University, actively participates in and prepares for the accreditation. In Beijing, BISTU is one of the 96 institutions accredited as model institutions of intellectual property.
The accreditation is positive confirmation of achievements at BISTU in respect of academic strengths, research achievements, management of intellectual property, and commercialization of research projects. During the 13th Five-Year Plan, BISTU has filed 973 applications for patents and has been approved 502 licensed patents and registered 594 software copyrights. The University will take this opportunity to further optimize and perfect management system for intellectual property. Reform will be conducted to offer researchers the ownership or the right to use in-engagement intellectual properties so as to motivate their competences in research and innovation. It would help lay a solid foundation for the University’s objective of building a high level university with distinctive features in information technology.
