Beijing, 11th September, 2020 (BISTU)— The grand opening ceremony of Beijing Municipal Award Meeting for Science and Technology Advancement held in Beijing 10th September sees BISTU honored with two municipal second prizes, i.e., Key Technology and Commercialization of High Performance Piezoelectric Composite headed by the team led by Qin Lei of Municipal Key Lab for Sensors, and Development and Application of Key Technology in Stability of Aerospace Structural Components Processing participated by Ji Yongjian of Municipal Key Lab for Electromechanical System Detection and Control.
Targeting at the demand of high-performance underwater acoustic transducer in the strategy of building a maritime power, Key Technology and Commercialization of High Performance Piezoelectric Composite breaks a technological bottle and develops a whole-new 1-1-3 piezoelectric composite which is the core part of various high performance acoustic transducers. The product now has been commercialized and widely applied in a number of areas such as underwater detection, industrial ultrasonic nondestructive testing, and medical ultrasonic. It symbolizes a new phase of research and development of BISTU in the field of piezoelectric sensors.
Beijing Municipal Award for Science and Technology Advancement grants 154 awards, including 15 in natural science--- 5 first prizes and 10 second prizes, 12 in technological invention--- 6 first prizes and 5 second prizes, and 127 for science and technology advancement--- 1 outstanding prize, 33 first prizes and 93 second prizes.
Aiming at meeting the national and municipal demand on science and technology, BISTU has made tremendous achievements in science and technology with pioneering spirit and proactive planning. As of today the University has organized 25 projects in science and technology for application for various awards.
