Beijing, 2nd December, 2019 (BISTU)— The Annual Conference of Research Society of Human Resources of Local Engineering Universities in China, sponsored by Research Society of Human Resources of Local Engineering Universities in China, hosted by BISTU, and co-organized by China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), successfully completes on 30th November in Beijing. The Annual Conference, hosted by Director Qiu Xiaofei of Human Resources Office of Beijing University of Technology, accommodates HR faculties and staff from 42 universities in China.
In his address to the Annual Conference, Vice President Yu Shijie extends warm welcome to all colleagues participating in the Conference. Following his introduction to BISTU in respect of strategic objectives, featured development, talent cultivation, and faculty development, he points out that faculty team building in universities is facing with higher requirements with advancement of the New Era. CPC BISTU Committee firmly holds onto Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the principle of Remaining True to Our Original Aspiration and Keeping Our Mission Firmly in Mind”. The University unites all faculties, staff, and students, centers on the consensus of “building the best university and making the best of ourselves”, and comprehensively strengthens “construction of five environments”. It is hoped that Research Society of Human Resources of Local Engineering Universities in China as a platform will offer opportunities for local engineering universities to learn from each other and to facilitate HR development.
BISTU President Wang Yongsheng delivers the keynote speech titled Exploration and Practices of Higher Educational Institutions under the Context of Organizational Transformation.
The Speech covers three sections, i.e., tendency of demand on talents, reform and development of higher education, and talent cultivation and transformation in BISTU. Wang Yongsheng says that the fourth science and technology revolution--- focusing on renewable energy, internet telecommunication, smart/intelligent manufacturing and digital manufacturing--- is now on the way. Cross-disciplinary, compound talents with innovative competence will be the main body of value creation in enterprises. He discusses transformation in higher education from three perspectives, i.e., updating educational ideas and principles, optimizing structure of academic disciplines and programs, and remolding teaching and education. Wang Yongsheng points out that current higher education in China, in response to the new requirements raised by the New Era on new technology, new industry, new business formats, and new models, is promoting development in key areas and sectors so as to comprehensively enhance students’ learning competence, innovative spirit, and innovative competence. With regard to transformation, development, and talent cultivation of BISTU, Wang Yongsheng introduces history, current progress, educational mission statement, and development prospectus as well as practices and achievements of the University. Wang Yongsheng points out that the past 80 years of development have witnessed footprints of BISTU in industrial changes and change of times. The new round of science and technology revolution and corporate organizational transformation brings along new opportunities as well as fresh challenges. BISTU seizes opportunities, actively responds to changes, makes forward-looking planning, and actively facilitate quality development and featured development of the University.
Wang Yongsheng stresses that the whole nation is marching forward on an innovation-driven pathway. Talents are playing an increasingly important role in industrial upgrading and organizational transformation. BISTU hopes to work with friends of all circles to explore development tendency of higher educational development, enhance quality of talent cultivation, and promote the on-going science and technology revolution and industrial revolution so as to contribute to national development with our innovative strengths.
Director Wang Yongzhen of Human Resources Office of Taiyuan University of Technology--- the Chairman institution of Research Society of Human Resources of Local Engineering Universities in China--- addresses the opening ceremony. He says that faculties are key to development of education. The theme of the annual conference is reform and innovation of human resources system and construction of “double first-rate” universities and academic disciplines. It then requests us to pay more attention to how human resources work at universities could better serve development of universities, how we would effectively map our education with national strategic development, and how we could cultivate socialist builders and successors of the New Era.
Deputy Director Gao Xinmin of Human Resources Department of Beijing Municipal Educational Commission addresses the opening ceremony. Following his brief introduction to HR Department of the Commission, Gao Xinmin exchange his ideas with experts on mechanism of mobility of talents. He hopes that the annual conference would be able to establish a mechanism or reach an agreement which would facilitate issues and work in this field. He says that Beijing Municipal Educational Commission has always been supporting talent development at BISTU and has seen great achievements made by BISTU. It is hoped that experts of the conference would produce valuable experiences, practical solutions and effective pathways.
After the opening ceremony, the morning session and the afternoon session of the conference are respectively hosted by Director Shang Guangmei of Human Resources Office of Fuzhou University and Director Zhu Mingyuan of Human Resources Office of Shanghai University. Keynote speeches are delivered by Director Qiu Xiaofei of Human Resources Office of Beijing University of Technology, Director Li Zibiao of Human Resources Office of Hebei University of Technology, Vice General-Manager Zhou Yiqing of CNKI, Director Huang Mingyong of Human Resources Office of Kunming University of Science and Technology, Director Li Jiefang of Human Resources Office of Zhejiang University of Technology, and Director Wang Yongzhen of Human Resources Office of Taiyuan University of Technology.
Director Chen Xin of Human Resources Office of BISTU hosts interaction session which centers on team building of faculties in higher education institutions. Participants from a number of universities, such as Shanghai University, Zhejiang University of Technology, Fuzhou University, Harbin University of Science and Technology, Yanshan University, and Guangdong University of Technology, actively communicate on this topic.
The closing ceremony is hosted by Director Li Jiefang of Human Resources Office of Zhejiang University of Technology. The flag for organizer is then passed on to Kunming University of Science and Technology, the next hosting institution of the annual conference.
