BISTU Held Conference on Work Relating to Foreign Affairs

Beijing, 7th March 2023 (BISTU)--- Aiming at building an educational globalization mechanism with “schools as platforms, faculty as the leading role, and students as the principal part”, BISTU held the Conference on Work Relating to Foreign Affairs at Shehe Campus on 7th March 2024 to coordinate issues concerning Sino-foreign joint-running educational programs and studying abroad programs. The Conference was addressed and attended by Vice President Xiao Zhisong.  

  

Xiao Zhisong pointed out that educational globalization was one of the missions in BISTU’s contributions to national strategy. Building a globalized BISTU and breaking new ground in educational globalization required coordination of all divisions, offices, and schools of the University. He added that all should enhance political awareness, take into consideration of national and municipal development strategy, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development strategy, the goal of building BISTU into a high level university, and the demand of students when introducing quality international educational resources, and actively explore innovative pathways for globalized education in areas around Beijing. The working principle for educational globalization at BISTU focused on optimizing resources, strengthening cooperation, building sound mechanisms, and improving reputation. Xiao Zhisong emphasized that all BISTU schools should take initiative in broaden channels of international cooperation to enhance global awareness of all students, faculty and staff.  

  

Director Qu Li of International Cooperation Department offered an introduction to preparations and plans for Sino-foreign joint-running programs and studying abroad programs to be organized in 2024.  

Reports on Sino-foreign joint-running programs and studying abroad programs were respectively delivered by Academic Affairs Office, Office for Admissions and Career Consultation, School of Electromechanical Engineering, School of Instrumentation Science and Opto-electronics Engineering, School of Automation, School of Computer Science, School of Economics and Management, and School of Applied Sciences.
