Three BISTU Teachers Honored with Outstanding Papers in Science and Technology

Beijing, 21st March 2023 (BISTU)--- Three papers of BISTU teachers were listed in the 17th public appraisal of Outstanding Papers in Science and Technology, according to the notice published by Beijing Municipal Association for Science and Technology on 20th March 2024. BISTU Association for Science and Technology was granted the honor Outstanding Organizers for Papers.

As an event organized by Beijing Municipal Association for Science and Technology every two years, Outstanding Papers in Science and Technology aimed at commending young outstanding talents in Beijing for their high level academic papers. The 17th public appraisal saw 209 outstanding papers and 96 outstanding organizers.

Gong Yi is currently an associate professor at School of Information and Communication Engineering. She is honored as a high-caliber overseas returnee talent of Beijing Municipality and granted funding by Young Elite Scientists Sponsorship Program of Beijing Municipal Association for Science and Technology. She is also Secretary-Chief of IEEE OTFS SIG, a member of Block-chain Commission of China Institute of Communications, and an Executive Member of Science Popularization Committee of CCF. Her research interests include low-power consumption MIMO, OTFS, wireless communications, block-chain, etc. Nonlinear MIMO for Industrial Internet of Things in Cyber-Physical Systems demonstrated that our systems can achieve the same uplink rate as traditional MIMO by increasing the number of receiving antennas but with less overall power consumption. It also proposed an algorithm to overcome the problem of low computational efficiency due to high-dimensional integration when calculating the uplink achievable rate of nonlinear MIMO. Moreover, we reveal that when the skew-normal distribution is used as signaling, the nonlinear MIMO systems can achieve better performance than the Gaussian distribution. The Paper is innovative and practical in saving cost and enhancing system functions under the context of achieving carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals.

Quote from Acceptance Speech: Let youth continue to shine.

Zhang Huiyin is currently a Research Associate at School of Instrumentation Science and Opto-electronics Engineering. Her research interests include semiconductor optoelectronic materials and devices. Perovskite solar cells served as an effective, new technology in clean energy. Self-Adhesive Macroporous Carbon Electrodes for Efficient and Stable Perovskite Solar Cells demonstrated that the cost of the macroporous electrode is much lower comparing to that of the vacuum-evaporated metal electrodes. The self-adhesive carbon electrode affords excellent interface contact, high efficiency, and improved stability. And it exhibits potential application for flexible devices and the large-area roll-to-roll production due to the excellent mechanical flexibility.

Quote from Acceptance Speech: It is an honored to have my research recognized. I will keep moving to better myself in research.

Yue Xinwei is currently an associate professor at School of Information and Communication Engineering. His research interests include key communications technologies for B5G/6G such as NOMA, IRS, NFC, ISAC, PLS communications, etc. Intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) is a promising technology to enhance the coverage and performance of wireless networks. Performance Analysis of Intelligent Reflecting Surface Assisted NOMA Networks demonstrated that IRS becomes pivotal to support massive intelligent equipments with different scenarios for 6G networks. Simulation results showed that the outage behaviors of IRS-NOMA are superior to that of IRS-OMA, AF relaying and FD/HD DF relaying.

Quote from Acceptance Speech: I will center on broadband mobile communications to contribute to Information and Communication Engineering of BISTU.

Recent years have witnessed BISTU taking active measures in implementing strategies of Central Party Committee on integrated development of education, science and technology, and talents. Great importance has been attached to scientific and technological innovation. The future focus would be on nurturing research and innovation competences of young faculty to boost high-quality development of the University.
