Beijing, 3rd June 2024 (BISTU)--- The 6th Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Graphene Conference, one of the events of 2024 Zhongguancun Forum, was successfully organized at Fangshan District of Beijing from 2nd to 5th June 2024. Themed on “Grabbing the opportunity to build an era of advanced materials”, the Conference was co-organized by Fangshan District Government, Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, Management Committee of Zhongguancun Science Park, Beijing Investment Promotion Service Center, and Beijing Association for Science and Technology.  

The Conference was attended by senior administrators, experts, and scholars of governmental sectors, higher educational institutions, research institutes, and enterprises. President Guo Fu, the President of Beijing Association for Advanced Carbon Industry Promotion, was invited to the Conference.  

The first annual meeting of Beijing New Materials Industry Development was held on 2nd June, addressed by President Guo Fu, Vice Mayor Li Guangming of Fangshan District, Second-tier Inspector Zhang Yuhang of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, and Director Cai Lupeng of Fangshan District Bureau of Economy and Information Technology.  

Following the introduction to Beijing Association for Advanced Carbon Industry Promotion in respect of historical development, current practices, and achievements, Guo Fu pointed out that BISTU, as a major sponsor of the Association, has taken initiative in integrating into the great pattern of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development, serving development of high-grade, precision, and advanced industries, and conducting constructive explorations in strengthening the quality of talent cultivation, faculty development, academic research, and innovative development. We have made a series of achievements for optimization and upgrading of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei industrial structure, enhancement of innovation capacity of Beijing, and promotion of high-quality development of Beijing. He concluded that BISTU would bring the strengths in education, science and technology, and talent into full play, follow the path of innovative development, integrated development and mutual-beneficial development, and build a new model for education-industry integration so as to provide BISTU-marked contributions to development of education, service industries, supply chains, talent cultivation, etc.  

Beijing Association for Advanced Carbon Industry Promotion was jointly unveiled on 3rd June 2024 by Guo Fu, Deputy Chief Secretary Xu Xinchao of Beijing Municipal Government, Deputy Director Mao Dongjun of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, and Academician Li Yang of Chinese Academy of Engineering. The Association is aimed at building a zone of new materials represented by advanced materials, promoting cooperation between upstream and downstream industries, and facilitating high-quality development of regional economy. It is expected to become a model zone for innovative development of new materials in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. BISTU is a major sponsor of the Association.  

The opening ceremony of the Working Committee of the International Carbon Materials Union saw Guo Fu, Vice Chairman Liu Xiaokan of Beijing Association for Science and Technology, Li Guangming, Ben Fok (member of the board directors of Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation (FYTEF) and Co-Chairman of International Carbon Materials Union), Academician Tang Peifu of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Director Cai Yongxiang of Beijing New Materials and New Energy Science and Technology Development Center, Deputy Manager Zhao Huanqun of Sinopec Yanshan Petrochemical Company, senior consultant Chen Qiang of International Carbon Materials Union, and Secretary-chief Liu Wei of Beijing Association for Advanced Carbon Industry Promotion.  

Beijing Graphene Industry & Education Union was co-signed and co-established by BISTU, Management Committee of Zhongguancun Fangshan Park, Fangshan District Science and Technology Commission, Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing Graphene Institute, Beijng Aika, and Huamo (Beijing) New Materials Co., Ltd.  

Supported by Ministry of Education, Beijing Municipal Education Commission, and Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, Beijing Graphene Industry & Education Union, based in Graphene Industry Zone of Fangshan and led by BISTU, is a union on deepening industry-education integration and strengthening talent cultivation and integrated development of innovation and entrepreneurship. It is committed to converting quality resources of graphene industry in Beijing into educational resources, promoting coordination among governments, industries, enterprises, and universities, and building Fangshan District into a pioneer zone in industry-education integration. It is also an important move of BISTU in contributing to Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development.  

Guo Fu, Ben Fok, Donald Nixon (senior consultant of International Carbon Materials Union), President Wang Xudong of Beijing Graphene Institute, Secretary-chief Liu Wei of Beijing Association for Advanced Carbon Industry Promotion, etc., jointly established the initiative to build a Global Carbon Materials Industry Community.  

Attendees of the Conference was shown over 200 new products from 40-odd companies of new materials, including graphene Li-battery, graphene solid chamber, graphene intelligent sensors, etc.  

The conference and ceremony was joined by Vice President Xiao Zhisong and directors of General Administration Office and External Liaison Office.  

Initiated in 2017, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Graphene Conference now witnesses successful completion of the 6th session attracting over 3000 professionals from dozens of countries in the world and 15 provinces of China. It has become a globalized professional platform which brings new momentum to innovation and coordinated development of graphene materials.
