Beijing, March 30th, 2014(BISTU)--- Launching ceremony of IMechE ((Institution of Mechanical Engineers) Student Branch at BISTU successfully completed at Jianqiangqiao Campus on 30^th March, 2014. Honoured guests present at the ceremony include W. K. Chow, Representative of IMechE Northeast Asia Branch, Prof. Zhou Huixing, Representative of IMechE Beijing Branch, and Mr. Tsang and Mr. Chan---youth representatives of Hong Kong. Also present to celebrate the ceremony are administration of BISTU School of Information and Communication, i.e., Wang Ying, Chairman of School Council, Prof. Su Zhong, Dean of the School, and Vice Deans Li Xuehua and Cheng Lijun.

The ceremony welcomed faculty and students from China Agricultural University, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, the University of Nottingham Ningbo China, etc.

IMechE was founded in 1847 and has become the leading institution of its peers. It has been dedicated to establishing standards for mechanical engineers with its over 100,000 formally registered members. BISTU Student Branch is its third in Beijing, following the branches at China Agricultural University and University of Science and Technology Beijing.

An introduction to BISTU was made prior to opening ceremony. W. K. Chow and Prof. Su Zhong unveiled the branch. Effective communication was conducted between students and representatives.

IMechE has a number of partners in industries, which offers valuable opportunities for internship.Meanwhile, a variety of international global academic exchanges will become accessible to BISTU via the platform of IMechE. Students are charged free for membership with privilege access to abundant resources of IMechE.
