BISTU Approved to Offer 2 New Undergraduate Programs

Beijing, 29th April 2025 (BISTU)--- BISTU was approved by Ministry of Education to offer two new undergraduate programs, i.e., Intelligent Vehicle Engineering and Digital Economy, according to the recent notice published by MOE.

Intelligent Vehicle Engineering

As a new, emerging cross-disciplinary program integrated with vehicle engineering, artificial intelligence, computer science, and control engineering, it is aimed to develop students' expertise in key intelligent vehicle systems, including environment perception, intelligent decision-making, control, etc. Students will be equipped with skills and capabilities in designing, developing, and testing intelligent cars. This program highlights its feature in information technology and incorporates big data analysis, AI algorithm, V2X communication, etc., which enable intelligent vehicle control and enhance safety and efficiency of vehicles.

This program provides services with development of top-tier smart technology in Beijing. As a center of scientific and technological innovation, Beijing takes initiative in promoting application of AI and big data in transport. Graduates of this Program would provide powerful support with intelligent transport, R&D of autonomous driving, and V2X communication industry.

Digital Economy

Featured in digitization, industrialization, integration, and globalization, this Program is based on the University’s strength in information technology and incorporates resources of various BISTU colleges, industries, research institutes, and enterprises. In a “wide-ranging, foundation-intensive, professionally-focused” curriculum with mentor support for every student in the whole process, this Program offers individualized courses and boasts a talent cultivation model of “industry-education integration, science-education integration, disciplinary blending, seamless undergraduate-postgraduate connection, and globalized cultivation”.

Students of this program will be equipped with theories and practices as well as frontier researches of digital economy. Students will learn about tools of big data analysis and interdisciplinary knowledge of big data and accounting. It is aimed at nurturing high-quality, interdisciplinary, innovative talents of applied learning for digital industrialization and industrial digitization.
