The 15th CISP-BMEI 2022 International Congress Concluded at BISTU

 

Beijing, 9th November 2022 (BISTU)--- The 2022 15th International Congress on Image and Signal Processing, BioMedical Engineering and Informatics (15th CISP-BMEI 2022 International Congress), organized online by BISTU 5-6th November 2022, successfully concluded. The Congress witnessed over 200 experts and professors from all around the world communicating in English on academic issues in these aspects. The Congress established 1 main venue and three sub-venues and these venues were respectively chaired by Dean Cao Lin of BISTU School of Information and Communication Engineering and other faculties of the School.  

 

 

Vice President Chen Xin addressed the Opening ceremony and keynote speeches of CISP-BMEI 2022 held on 5th November 2022. Chen Xin offered a brief introduction to the University and development history and expressed gratitude to all keynote speakers, chairs of venues, and organizing committee members as well as all staff and faculties who have contributed to successful organization of the Congress. He pointed out that image and signal processing, biomedical engineering, and informatics were currently academic hotspots. It was expected that the Congress would build a platform of dialogue and sharing for experts and scholars home and abroad.  

Call for papers for CISP-BMEI 2022 was issued in May 2022 and received extensive attention from scholars and experts all over the world. Over 200 essays were included in the Congress and the authors were from a number of global institutions, including Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Zhejiang University, Shandong University, Xian Jiaotong University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Beijing Institute of Technology, Beihang University, Brunel University London, University of Nottingham, Queen Mary University of London, Florida State University, Columbus Academy (the US),  Université de technologie de Troyes (France), Delhi Technological University, etc.  

 

 

Professor Metin Akay (IEEE fellow, founder of IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, and John S. Dunn Endowed Chair Professor of biomedical engineering at University of Houston) delivered the keynote speech on Engineering Innovations in Healthcare Innovative Medical Devices on 5th November 2022. Prof. ZHANG Yuanting (IAMBE Fellow, IEEE Fellow, AIMBE Fellow Chair Professor) delivered his keynote report on Tonoarteriography (TAG): Towards the Unobtrusive and Continuous Measurements of Arterial Blood Pressure. Deep Prototype Learning for Classification and Generalization in Open World, another keynote speech was delivered by Professor Liu Chenglin (Vice Dean of School of Artificial Intelligence at University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Vice President of Institute of Automation at Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Director of National Laboratory of Pattern Recognition). Experiences were shared among participants and guests of the Congress.  

 

 

On the afternoon of 5th November and the whole day of 6th November, three sub-venues of CISP-BMEI 2022 were opened to all scholars and professors attending the Congress for academic exchanges. Over 50 participants presented their reports in English on a wide scope of topics, followed by heated, in-depth discussions among peers.  

 

 

CISP-BMEI 2022, based on the principle of communication, dialogue, sharing, was well received by all participants. It greatly promoted high-level academic exchanges and communication among experts and scholars in the field of image and signal processing, biomedical engineering, and informatics. A platform has thus been established for researchers of these fields to set up links, conduct dialogues, and sharing experiences, which laid solid foundation for future cooperation.
