BISTU Organized ISPMM2023

Beijing, 26th November 2023 (BISTU)---  President Guo Fu attended and addressed the opening ceremony chaired by Vice President Xiao Zhisong for the 11th International Symposium on Precision Mechanical Measurement ( ISPMM2023) held in Nansha of Guangzhou from 24th to 26th November 2023.

Guo Fu extended warm congratulations to the Symposium. He pointed out that precision mechanical measurement served as the “eye” to high-end manufacturing industry and was playing a guiding role in development of high-end equipment manufacturing technology. It was also one of the major supports for high quality development of modern science and technology industries, national economy, and social administration. Experts of precision machinery measurement and instruments home and abroad were now gathering together to explore key technological advancement in precision instruments to meet the demand of our times. The Symposium carried important implications in that it would research frontier areas and lead relating studies to future orientation so that we would be able to share the achievements of science-education integration and teaching-industry integration.

Following his introduction to BISTU, Guo Fu pointed out that recent years have witnessed BISTU’s efforts in serving national and municipal development strategy, coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Province, and development of advance, high precision industries in Beijing. Aligning with the national and municipal 14th Five Year Plan, the industrial patterns of new generation information science and technology, integrated circuits, intelligent manufacturing and equipment, and medical and healthcare industry, and laying focus on key requirements and demands of high-end instruments, sensors, intelligent chips, and biomedical testing and measurement, BISTU has made substantial achievements and progresses in respect of the quality of talent cultivation, team building, the level of academic research, the number and quality of academic innovation research platforms, commercialization of research achievements, and social services. He extended the best wishes to the Symposium and hoped that it would strengthen innovation in science and technology development to provide support with precision machinery industry.

Prof. Zhu Lianqing of School of Instrumentation Science and Opto-electronic Engineering delivered an invited speech on “New generation infrared detection technology”. Based on the demand of the new generation of infrared sensors, he analyzed the challenges with which superlattice infrared sensors were facing and explored related researches and applications of the next generation of superlattice infrared sensors.

Jointly sponsored by BISTU, International Committee on Measurements and Instrumentation (ICMI), National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), and China Instrument and Control Society (CIS) and jointly organized by Hefei University of Technology(HFUT), China University of Petroleum (CUP), Guangzhou Nansha Photon Intelligence Institute, Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology of Chinese Academy of Sciences, China Jiliang University, and Anhui University of Science and Technology, the 11th International Symposium on Precision Mechanical Measurement ( ISPMM2023) was held both on the venue and online and aimed at exploring frontier issues, development tendencies, challenges, new breakthroughs, application demands, and industrial development strategies of precision machinery area. On the crucial phase of high quality development, BISTU sponsored and organized a series of international and national academic conferences and symposiums, which have promoted coordinated innovation in learning and research, strengthened organized research, and brought new momentum to R&D of core technologies.

After the opening ceremony, Guo Fu visited Guangzhou Nansha Photon Intelligence Institute and was informed of research progresses, status quo, and future development plan of the Institute.

The opening and ceremony was also attended and joined by directors of General Administration Office, Academic Affairs Office, and faculties of School of Instrumentation Science and Opto-electronic Engineering.
