Beijing, 10th May 2023 (BISTU)--- Vice President Chen Xin met with Beijing Municipal Cultural Heritage Bureau delegation headed by Deputy Director Bai Jie on 10th May 2023. Both institutions discussed general plan for intelligent cultural relics and museology in Beijing and cooperation in the field of informationization.

Following his warm welcome to Bai Jie and delegation members, Chen Xin offered a brief introduction to measures the University has take in shifting metropolitan functions of Beijing and promoting science and technology development, with focus on latest progress and breakthrough in intelligent decision making, informationization of cultural relics and museology empowered by science and technology, etc. Chen Xin expressed that the University would center on the mission of “building Beijing as four centers” and provide due support and service with Beijing Municipal Cultural Heritage Bureau. He hoped that both institutions would strengthen communication, bring their respective strengths into full play, develop and maintain long-lasting strategic cooperative relationship, and finally achieve a win-win situation for each other. The University’s strengths in intellisense, intelligent computing, and intelligent decision making would be fully utilized to promote R&D and application of key technologies in the field of informationization for cultural relics and museology.  

Bai Jie extended gratitude to BISTU for the key support in respect of intelligent cultural relics and museology. He commented that rapid development of intelligent city and digital economy has brought along substantial opportunities to reform of cultural relics industry and modernization of governance. Top design for informationization of cultural relics and museology was urgently required in the field of cultural relics and heritage. It carried important implications for integration of industrial resources and the emerging digital technology. He expressed that BISTU research teams have overcome various difficulties and completed pre-survey, draft, and discussion of the general plan for intelligent cultural relics and heritage in Beijing. It showed outstanding ability of the teams in analyzing information, conducting surveys, and drafting plans. It was hoped that the University would continue to provide due support in the future.  

The meeting and discussion was also attended by directors of Research Office, General Administration Office, and Security and Technology Department of Capital Museum of Beijing Municipal Cultural Heritage Bureau as well as faculties of BISTU divisions and schools, including Office for Scientific Research, School of Computer Science, School of Information Management, and School of Economics and Management.
