Beijing, 23rd March 2023 (BISTU)--- Research and Application of Prediction and Intelligent Early-warning for Regional Power Supply for Issues Concerning Heavy Overload in Voltage Transformer Zones, a key project of State Grid, was initiated in State Grid Hebei Electric Power Co., Ltd. on 21st March 2021. The Conference was attended by experts and researchers of BISTU, State Grid Hebei Electric Power Co., Ltd., State Grid Henan Electric Power Co., Ltd., China Electric Power Research Institute, State Grid Economic and Technological Research Institute, and North China Electric Power University.  

Load prediction and algorithm for early warning of the project was undertaken by BISTU headed by Prof. Zhao Bo of School of Automation. The experts and researchers also visited big data center, intelligent power management center, and intelligent power storage of State Grid Hebei Electric Power Co., Ltd. Prof. Zhao delivered an academic report titled Analysis of Technology and Application of Hydrogen-based Power Storage.  

National Energy Administration has announced a list of pilot counties for distributed photovoltaic development to contribute to the national strategic objective of “carbon peaking and carbon neutrality”, which covered 37 counties of Hebei Province. However, distributed solar PV, when connected to the distribution electric network, would lead to heavy overload in voltage transformer zones, which posed great threat to safety of end users and the whole grid. Research and Application of Prediction and Intelligent Early-warning for Regional Power Supply for Issues Concerning Heavy Overload in Voltage Transformer Zones was expected to provide feasible, scientific solution in this regard.
