The official opening of the Beijing Key Laboratory of Optoelectronic Measurement Technology was celebrated in the No. 1 Conference Room on Jianxianqiao campus on December 20, 2012. In the presence of Liu Gonghui, BISTU President, Han Qiushi, BISTU Vice-President, and heads of some relevant administrative departments, Academician Wang Zicai, Academic Commission Chairman of BISTU, Academician Ye Shenghua, Vice-Chairman of BISTU Academic Commission, Academician Zhang Zhonghua, Vice-Chairman of BISTU Academic Commission, together with 15 members of the National Natural Science Foundation witnessed this historic moment. These 15 distinguished guests are from renowned universities and research institutions both at home and abroad, such as Tsinghua University, Tianjin University, Beihang University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Hefei University of Technology, China Academy of Space Technology, as well as Oakland University and Boston University from the USA.
Back in May 2012, the laboratory went through a series of assessments organized by Beijing Science and Technology Commission. Later, it became an approved Provincial/Ministerial-level scientific and research base after undergoing the preliminary assessment, expert panel assessment, and expert on-site assessment.
