Beijing, 10th March 2023 (BISTU)--- BISTU School of Foreign Studies successfully organized Beijing Seminar of tcworld China on the New Campus, one of the most influential conferences in the field of technical communication. The Conference aimed at exploring practical and theoretical issues in professional field and future progresses of industries. Beijing Seminar, an offline event, attracted more than 30 practitioners of technical communication from famous enterprises of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei and was attended by Director Mi Jie of Academic Affairs Office as well as Executive Vice Dean Zhu Anbo and Vice Dean Wang Zhaohui of School of Foreign Studies. Over 40 faculties and students of Foreign Studies School watched the Seminar via video links.

On behalf of BISTU, Mi Jie addressed the Seminar. She offered an introduction to academic strengths of the University with emphasis on Digital Industry School. All suggestions and advices from distinguished guests of the Seminar concerning development of academic disciplines were welcome. Mi Jie said.
Zhu Anbo addressed the Seminar on behalf of School of Foreign Studies. The Seminar has attracted technical communication practitioners from renowned enterprises such as Huawei, Baidu, Xiaomi, Aliyun, Bytedance, etc. and researchers of technical communication from universities like University of International Business and Economics and Capital University of Economics and Business. Success of the Seminar owed much to active participation and contribution of all attendees. He offered an introduction to educational features of the School. It was hoped that the Seminar would be a good opportunity for the School to enhance its feature in “translation plus technology”.
Fu Tao, superintendent of TC-China and the representative of tcworld China, expressed thanks to the University for generous support provided with the Conference.
The Seminar saw experience-sharing by Li Lin, Miao Miao, Duan Linjing and Dong Wenwen, four practitioners from PingCAP, Huawei, and Sany Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. respectively on “Practice and Application of ChatGPT in technical documents”, “Development and practice: from technical documents to digital intelligent information”, “Building and operation of digital learning platform in Huawei”, and “Video marketing in open-source AI companies”.

In concluding remarks, Wang Zhaohui expressed that Beijing Seminar has provided valuable industrial resources for technical communication as an academic discipline and School of Foreign Studies would be very pleased to receive visits of all attendees in the future.
