8 BISTU Scholars Among World Top 2% Scientists, Based on Citations

Beijing, 15th October 2023 (BISTU)--- Published by Stanford University and Elsevier Data Repository, the sixth edition of World Top 2% Scientists showed that 7 BISTU scholars, i.e., Wen Xiaoyong, You Rui, Chen Ying, Zhao Haoran, Yue Xinwei, Zhu Lianqing, and Hao Yuxin, were listed in single year 2022 and Prof. Guo Fu was listed as a career-long world top 2% scientist.  

  

  

As one of the most influential academic assessment system, World’s Top 2% Scientists was based on Scopus, the largest citation database of the world. In view of six indexes including citations, H index and HM index, the assessment named top 2% scientists to the list out of around 7 million scientists. It fell into two categories, i.e., career-long impact (based on comprehensive influence of academic careers) and sing-year impact (based on annual academic achievements), which served as a standard to measure long-standing academic research performance.  

Listed scholars of BISTU covered a number of areas such as mathematics, physics and chemistry, computer science, energy, communications, electricity and electronics engineering, photo electronics, machinery, etc. It was the achievement of BISTU in respect of organized research and high-level faculty team building. With the feature in information technology, and industries being highlighted, it showed constant improvement of academic research competences at the University.  

The 14th Five Year Plan would see the University in being anchored in high quality development while targeting at frontier areas and top technologies to comprehensively enhance sci-tech innovative capacity. Efforts would be paid to strengthen innovation-oriented policies to promote teaching-industry integration and teaching-science integration to bring the role of universities in educational development and sci-tech development into full play. In the course of achieving the objective of building a high level university of applied learning with distinctive feature in information technology and achieving high quality big-stride development, the University would also contribute to service for national key strategies, and development of Beijing.
