Beijing, 11th September 2024 (BISTU)--- Sponsored by China Association for Science and Technology and co-organized by Innovation Method Society, Department of Science and Technology of Heilongjiang Province, Education Department of Heilongjiang Province, House of Science and Technology Workers of Heilongjiang Province, Heilongjiang Intellectual Property Administration, Heilongjiang Technology Innovation Method Society, Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of Heilongjiang Province, and Harbin Engineering University, the 12th China TRIZ Cup College Student Innovation Competition successfully completed at Harbin Engineering University on 1st September 2024.
Eight students of School of Management Science and Engineering, i.e., Yu Zihan, Yang Haobo, Liu Yichen, Wang Ge, Wei Yi, Lou Liming, Zhao Ziyi, and Zhou Xiaoqian, stood out with their outstanding performances and were honored with third prizes of the finals, the first awards that BISTU students have won in this Competition.
Themed on “Developing new quality productive forces, promoting high-quality development”, the Competition attracted 4,397 works from 200 higher education institutions in 26 provinces since it commenced in April 2024. The preliminary session of the National Competition saw 1,527 works, of which 927 works have applied approval of patents (139 companies were established based on this) and 221 works were done to meet actual corporate demands (the total amount of contracts signed concerning commercialization of these research achievements reaching 43.25 million Yuan). Heilongjiang-based companies have signed contracts with 13 works with total contract value reaching 9.11 million Yuan.
Expertise of reviewer experts of the Competition covers the area of machinery, electricity, agriculture, forestry, materials, finance, education, management, and innovation and entrepreneurship. Altogether 504 works, inclusive of 480 by students and 24 by teachers, were selected for the finals and 224 works including 200 by students and 24 by teachers entered the defense session of the finals.



Two teams of BISTU students finally won prizes with their outstanding performances, reflecting the quality of talent cultivation at the University. Future efforts would be invested in nurturing innovative competences in science and technology and boosting the vitality of sci-tech innovation of students to achieve high-quality development.
