Beijing, 21st January 2024 (BISTU)---  National Center for University Membership Service of China Instrument and Control Society (CIS) was officially launched at BISTU Jiuxianqiao Campus on 17th January 2024. The launching ceremony was attended by Vice President Zeng Zhoumo of CIS (Director of Teaching Steering Committee of MOE Instrument and Control Programs and Professor of Tianjin University), Vice President & Secretary-General Zhang Tong of CIS, and Vice President Xiao Zhisong of BISTU.

In his address, Xiao Zhisong extended warm congratulations to National Center for University Membership Service of China Instrument and Control Society (CIS) and warm welcome to all distinguished guests and experts. The CIS National Center for Membership Service aimed at motivating and serving researchers of fundamental research in higher educational institutions, promoting school-enterprise cooperation, providing support with self-reliance in high-level science and technology, and contributing to high-quality, social, economic development. Establishment of the Center at BISTU had far-reaching implications for talent cultivation, technological innovation, and social services of the University. Xiao Zhisong said. He added that the University would stick to the principle of fostering virtue through education, aim at achieving “double first-class”, and bring new strengths to the development of instrument and control as an academic discipline.

Zhang Tong announced that CIS National Center for University Membership Service was officially established. He said that CIS National Center for University Membership Service was the extension of services of CIS in universities. It was a platform of service for all students and faculties in universities. CIS would provide due support to ensure smooth, orderly operation of the Center.

Xiao Zhisong and Zeng Zhoumo presented plaques to representative universities of CIS National Center for University Membership Service, i.e., Tianjin University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Xi’an Technological University, Hebei University, and BISTU.

Dean Dong Mingli of School of Instrumentation Science and Opto-electronics Engineering, Secretary Ma Xiangyu of School of Instrumentation Science and Opto-electronics Engineering Commission of CPC BISTU Committee, and Director Zhu Lianqing of MOE Key Laboratory of Photo Electronics Measurement and Testing Technology and Instruments, presented certificates of Student Engineer to representatives of student engineers from universities.

Zeng Zhoumo pointed out that establishment of CIS National Center for University Membership Service would further enhance the role of CIS as a bridge in facilitating self-reliance of science and technology. It was hoped that the Center would provide better service, promote high-quality development, and strengthen the role of CIS as a connection between enterprises and universities.

Official establishment of CIS National Center for University Membership Service will facilitate inter-university exchanges and cooperation and provide support for cultivation of leading talents in instrumentation science and technology.

The launching ceremony, chaired by Deputy Secretary-general Zhang Li of CIS, was attended by over 200 people including representatives from over 20 universities such as Tianjin University, Harbin Institute of Technology and representatives of the Center in other regions.
