Beijing, 24th October 2024 (BISTU)--- Session One of “Science and Technology Seminar” of BISTU Institute of Diligence and Honor, held on 23rd October 2024, greeted the academic report delivered by Professor Mohammad S. Obaidat of the University of Jordan, a world top 2% scientist. The seminar was joined by President Guo Fu, Vice President Wang Xingfen and over a hundred BISTU students.

President Guo Fu and Vice President Wang Xingfen met with Professor Mohammad S. Obaidat, Prof. Balqies Obaidat, hif wife, and Professor Guo Yu of the University of Science and Technology Beijing. Guo Fu introduced BISTU and the Institute of Diligence and Honor. Professor Mohammad S. Obaidat commented that he was impressed with beautiful campuses, advanced facilities, and the innovative model of talent cultivation at the Institute of Diligence and Honor. Both parties conducted discussions on artificial intelligence technology, computer modeling and simulation science.

The academic report chaired by Guo Fu was held in Shahe Campus, starting with an introduction to Professor Mohammad S. Obaidat. The report, On the Fundamentals of Modeling and Simulation and Recent Trends, Advances and Challenges, covers concepts, types, VV&A, transient separation, challenges and future trends of modeling and simulation. President Guo Fu attended the discussion with Professor Mohammad S. Obaidat on simulation and modeling in learning and research.

It is the first session of the “Science and Technology Seminar” organized by the Institute of Diligence and Honor as well as an important event in globalized talent cultivation at the Institute. The academic report is well integrated into “Fundamentals to Engineering and Information Science” and “Digital Intelligent Technology and Social Development”, two modules delivered in the Institute of Diligence and Honor. More seminars and academic reports would be organized in the future to contribute to educational globalization and high-quality development of the University.

The report was also joined by faculty and staff of Academic Affairs Office and the Institute of Diligence and Honor.

About Professor Mohammad S. Obaidat:

Professor Mohammad S. Obaidat is an internationally known academic/researcher/scientist/ scholar. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering with a minor in Computer Science from The Ohio State University, Columbus, USA.
