Specially invited to attend this exhibition are All-fabric deformable rescue robot with all-fabric and electronic skin project hosted by Prof. Su Zhong---an Elite Mechanical Project of Beijing Municipal Commission of Science and Technology, and sun@home, a house service robot designed by student innovation team led by Prof. Zhang Qizhi. Spectators of the exhibition produce very positive comments on the two robots. Prof. Yang Jun, Vice Chairman of University Council visits the two teams in the Center on 7^th November 2013. 

All-fabric deformable rescue robot takes the shape of a snake. It is mainly used for rescue where human beings cannot reach. “The robot can zigzag, creep forward, or flip around” in the rescue, according to Prof. Su Zhong. Even when the robot is broken into two parts in the rescue, either would be able to work independently. It enables the robot to work under some extreme conditions. As a house service robot, sun@home is capable of conducting audio interaction. During the on-site demonstration, a student asks the robot “please fetch something for me” and is replied immediately by “what do you want to fetch?”. And then the student points at one of the four tin cans on the table and says the name of the can. The robot takes the can without hesitation. It is half as high as a human being and can move in a line whilst avoiding obstacles. Many spectators comment it as an “amazing creature”.
