Beijing, 24th September 2025 (BISTU)--- On 19 September 2025, Stanford University and Elsevier published the August 2025 data-update for “Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators”.
The World's Top 2% Scientists consists of two parts, i.e., career-long impact and single recent year impact. They were named out of around 7 million scientists of the world based on citations, h-index, co-authorship adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions and a composite indicator (c-score). Scientists are classified into 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields according to the standard Science-Metrix classification. Career-long data are updated to end-of-2024 and single recent year data pertain to citations received during calendar year 2024.

He Wei, Chen Xin, Chen Ying, Wen Xiaoyong, Zhu Lianqing, Li Li, Dong Mingli, Hao Yuxin, You Rui, and Yue Xinwei were named in single recent year impact section. He Wei, Zhu Lianqing, Wen Xiaoyong and Guo Fu were named in career-long impact section.
The latest Essential Science Indicators published by Clarivate Analytics showed that computer science as an academic discipline at BISTU was ranked top 1% of the world, another discipline ranking top 1% following Engineering.
