Beijing, 16th October 2024 (BISTU)--- Upon invitation from BISTU School of Media and Public Administration, Professor Yin Hong of School of Journalism and Communication of Tsinghua University (Vice President of China Film Association) delivered an academic report 14th October 2024 on “Window, mirror, light, and dream: the charm of films”. The report was jointly organized by BISTU Aesthetic Education Center.

President Guo Fu met with Professor Yin Hong and expressed sincere thanks for the academic report. Following an introduction to the University, President Guo Fu hoped that Professor Yin Hong would produce guidance and suggestions for development of journalism and communication studies at BISTU.

Professor Yin Hong pointed out that films are like a window, showing audiences diversified lifestyles, cultures, and values. Understanding of human emotions and experiences is then enhanced. Films are also a mirror, reflecting inner choice of audiences, which promotes self-discovery and identity. As a light, films illuminate the reality and enlighten human thinking. Films can work as a metaphor of dreams. They reiterate and reveal the complicated relationship among id, ego, and superego and display internal conflicts and desires of human beings, which makes films a unique medium in exploring human psychology and emotions.

In-depth analysis of Professor Yin Hong of the charm of films as a form of art inspired students and teachers to learn more about films. The auditorium saw roaring applauses for the report chaired by Dean Ding Ning of School of Media and Public Administration and joined by over 300 students and teachers of the University.
Following the report, Professor Yin Hong conducted survey at School of Media and Public Administration to explore academic ties.
