Beijing, 1st June 2023 (BISTU)--- Closing ceremony of 2023 Challenge Cup Extracurricular Researches and Tech Products Contest for College Students in Beijing successfully completed at Liangxiang Campus of Beijing Technology and Business University on 30th May 2023. Among all 15 works presented by BISTU teams, 14 won awards and 7 were listed in finals, i.e., 4 first prizes, 4 second prizes, and 7 third prizes. And one work also was qualified for national contest to be held in the future. Team score of BISTU ranked 19th among all Beijing-based universities and for the very first time BISTU won a team prize in this contest.  

BISTU hit a record high in this Contest in respect of the number of works entering the finals, aware-winning rate, team score, and the level of prizes. In all five sectors of the Contest, i.e., Philosophies of the 20th CPC National Congress, Creative Ideas, High Tech, Rural Development, Grass-root Development, 73 works of BISTU teams were recommended and 25 works became award winners, inclusive of a Grand Prize in High Tech --- a historical breakthrough in Challenge Cup. Award winners included a first prize, 2 second prizes, 8 third prizes in Creative Ideas; 1 grand prize and 1 third prize in High Tech; 2 first prizes and 4 third prizes in Rural Development; and 2 first prizes, 1 second prize, and 3 third prizes in Grass-root Development.  

The University has been attaching great importance to coordinated innovation research based on our educational orientation of building a high level university of applied learning and our strengths in innovative practice. Innovation and entrepreneurship education was integrated into the whole process of talent cultivation. The University launched the 17th Innovative Cup Science and Technology Innovation Competition among students in October 2022 and attracted 367 works by 1629 students. Winners of the Competition included 16 first prizes, 38 second prizes, and 50 third prizes.  

Science and technology will help build a powerful nation. The breakthrough that BISTU has made in 2023 Challenge Cup Extracurricular Researches and Tech Products Contest for College Students in Beijing was the reflection of BISTUers enthusiasm in innovation and the achievements of BISTU in innovation and entrepreneurship education. The University would continue to encourage and motivate students to make new contributions to national innovation-driven development strategy in the future.
