BISTU Teams Won Honors with Outstanding Performance on 2023 China Robot Competition & RoboCup China Open

Beijing, 18th October 2023 (BISTU)--- Sponsored by Chinese Association of Automation, 2023 China Robot Competition & RoboCup China Open was successfully organized in Quanzhou of Fujian Province from 12th to 15th October 2023. Water, a BISTU robotics team headed by Qin Yufei of School of Electromechanical Engineering, won the gold medal of medium-size group. RERA Robotic Engineering Research Association headed by Wang Nike won the gold medal of obstacle-surmounting and search & rescue group, a silver medal of RoboCup China Open, and a gold medal for autonomous competence (single item).  

 

China Robot Competition & RoboCup China Open was included in robotics competition index for Chinese university students by China Association of Higher Education in February 2020 and has become the most influential competition in robotics with the highest level of comprehensive robotic technology. It is the most authoritative robotic technology competition as well as a key event for exchange and communication in the field of intelligent manufacturing. The Competition has been running for 24 sessions since 1999.  

 

The 2023 China Robot Competition & RoboCup China Open attracted over 5,000 contestants in 1,084 teams from 260 universities of China, including Tsinghua University, Tongji University, Zhejiang University, Beihang University, Beijing Institute of Technology, National University of Defense Technology, Chinese People's Public Security University, etc.  

 

  

With constant efforts in deepening educational and teaching reform, School of Electromechanical Engineering has been attaching great importance to cultivation of innovative competences of students in science and technology. The past five years have witnessed faculties and students of the School win over 230 awards on municipal level or higher levels. Based on academic strengths in machinery-related disciplines, the School would build platforms for enhancement of hands-on skills to nurture more high level talents of science and technology.
