Beijing, 21st March 2025 (BISTU)--- President Guo Fu met with La Trobe University delegation on 21st March 2025 to discuss deepening collaboration between the two institutions.

Guo Fu warmly greeted La Trobe University delegation and offered an introduction to BISTU on educational features, academic disciplines and programs, research strengths, and talent cultivation model. He pointed out that BISTU has been adhering to the guiding principle “bringing BISTU to the world and the world to BISTU” and running the school in an open manner. We are committed to working together with global partners on strategic level. The stable and fruitful cooperation between BISTU and La Trobe University in the past indicated a much brighter future in joint cultivation of talents and two-bound student & faculty exchanges. He added.
Ivy Xu, Regional Director-Greater China at La Trobe University, expressed thanks to the warm reception. Following an introduction to basic information and key international programs at La Trobe University including summer programs and master of professional engineering, she said that La Trobe University has been attaching great importance to collaboration with BISTU and now is working on renewal of the cooperative agreement. She cordially invited BISTU delegation to visit La Trobe University to further strengthen the cooperative ties between the two institutions.
In-depth discussions were conducted on a series of matters concerning cooperation, including student exchange in summer social practice, 2+2 dual degree programs in the field of artificial intelligence and communication engineering, joint-running professional master degrees, etc. Consensus has been reached on providing more opportunities for faculty and students of the two institutions.

Members of La Trobe University delegation included Prof. Wei Xiang, Associate Dean and Cisco Chair of AI and Internet of Things in the School of Computing, Engineering & Mathematical Sciences, and Prof. George Liu, Associate Dean for Partnerships International in the School of Psychology and Public Health. Meeting and discussions were joined by BISTU faculty including directors and deans of Department of International Affairs, College of Automation, College of Information and Communication Engineering, and College of International Education.
