Beijing, 2nd June, 2015(BISTU)--- The dual bachelors programme between BISTU School of Applied Sciences and College of Arts and Sciences, University of Cincinnati, was officially launched.

This programme developed from May 2012. A number of negotiation on teaching plan, syllabi, and course mapping has been implemented by both universities. Formal cooperative agreement was signed 16th May 2015, symbolizing official launching of the programme. It aims at educating students with resources of both universities, i.e., BISTU students could attend the programmes at University of Cincinnati, after two years of studying with BISTU. They would be awarded dual degrees by both universities if their academic grades are satisfactory.
On 16th May, Vice President Feng Xichun met and talked with Prof. Zhang Shuang, Chair of Department of Math Sciences of College of Arts and Sciences, University of Cincinnati.
Feng Xichun expressed his thanks to Prof. Zhang Shuang for his efforts in promoting the cooperation. There are a lot more to explore on cooperation between both universities. Prof. Zhang is expected to run more seminars for students of BISTU School of Applied Sciences whenever convenient. More opportunities of joint research are also expected. Said Feng Xichun.
Prof. Zhuang Shuang introduced about the University of Cincinnati and information on his Department of Math Sciences. He said it was an honour to work for building up the bridge of cooperation between the two universities.

More information was offered following the meeting on the seminar hosted by Prof. Zhang Shuang. He explained specific requirements on the cooperative programme and information about the university. He also answered some question raised by the students on optional courses, learning duration, and choosing majors.
The meeting was also attended by Prof. Wang Xingfen, Director of Academic Affairs Office, Prof. Lu Jing, Director of International Cooperation Department, and Vice Deans of School of Applied Sciences Xue Chunyan and Zhang Jingbo.
