Prof. Scott W.Cunningham Delivers Lecture at BISTU

Beijing, 16th May, 2016(BISTU) --- Scott W. Cunningham, professor of Systems Engineering and Policy Analysis (SEPAM) at Delft University of Technology delivered a lecture on Tech Mining Using Python to postgraduate students of BISTU School of Economics and Management.

Prof. Cunningham is the associate editor of Technological Forecasting and Social Change and International Journal of Innovation and Technology Management. He earned his doctoral degree in Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU) of the University of Sussex. His research focuses include technology analysis and strategic management.  

Starting from innovation tracking--- the objective of tech mining using Python, Prof. Cunningham analyzes on functions of Python language from three aspects, i.e., technology push, market pull, and knowledge base, including network analysis, data integration, sample analysis, data transmission, tabular data structure analysis, etc. He also briefly talks about Python’s history and development, application, and method of learning Python.

At the end of the lecture, students actively raise questions on Q&A session in which Professor Cunningham produces answers to each question raised. Discussion and lecture enhance students’ understanding of tech mining.
