Beijing, 13th December 2022 (BISTU)--- The 11th Forum on Cultivating Professional Talents of Information Management and Information System in Universities was held via video links from 8th to 9th December 2022. Themed on “Challenges and opportunities for cultivating professional talents of information management posed by high quality development”, the Forum was co-sponsored by China National Association for Information Systems (CNAIS) and Tsinghua University Press and co-organized by BISTU School of Information Management and Tsinghua University Press. It was aimed at exchanging information on objective, model, curricula, and teaching practice of talent cultivation in information management area, sharing outstanding achievements of curricular reform, and learning more about corporate innovation models, cases of successes, and demands on talents.
Vice President Fang Deying addressed the opening ceremony and offered an introduction to BISTU covering educational history, educational achievements, educational strengths, and information features of information system course offered at the University. Dean Wang Hongjun of School of Information Management shared the exploration and practices of the School in talent cultivation. Prof. Wang Xingfen from School of Information Management delivered a report on value cultivation and reform & innovation in nurturing professional talents in information management. Secretary Chen Bing of Information Management School Commission of CPC BISTU Committee and some faculties of the School attended the Forum chaired by Vice Dean Wang Lei of the School.

Outstanding reports on the Forum offered insightful views for all attendants. “Undergraduate education for information management from a ‘reversed tailor-system’ perspective” by Prof. Xu Xin from School of Economics and Management of Tsinghua University pointed out that export should be the cornerstone for all talent cultivation plans. New tries and methods on mutual facilitation and mutual integration between academic disciplines and academic programs were introduced in “New explorations of Nanjing University in information management under the new context” by Prof. Zhu Qinghua from School of Information Management at Nanjing University. And Prof. Mao Jiye from Business School of Renmin University of China proposed important thinking and methodology for digitized talents in information management in the future in his report “The best practice in digitized transformation--- a case of AUO”.
Initiated in 2012, Forum on Cultivating Professional Talents of Information Management and Information System in Universities has been running for 11 sessions in a row. It was aimed to build a platform for providing standards for academic discipline construction, improving faculties, and innovating models of cultivation so as to benefit all information management programs in universities around China.
