Beijing, 15th September 2025 (BISTU)--- President Guo Fu met with the delegation of Illinois Institute of Technology (Illinois Tech) headed by Prof. Mallik Sundharam, Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, on 15th September 2025. Both institutions discussed future cooperative issues on the meeting chaired by Vice President Xiao Zhisong.

Guo Fu offered an introduction to innovative practices and achievements of the University and pointed out that cooperation between the two institutions has been fruitful. He talked about the summer learning tour organized for faculty and students of Illinois Tech and expected to strengthen exchange and communication between the two institutions. It is necessary and mutual beneficial for BISTU and Illinois Tech to establish cooperative links in a wide range of areas including joint research, faculty exchange, student exchange, etc. Guo Fu said.

Mallik Sundharam expressed that Illinois Tech attached great importance to the cooperation with BISTU and would like to share quality faculty, advanced engineering pedagogy, and high-quality curricula complying with ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) standard. He stressed that Illinois Tech and BISTU would work together to nurture innovative talents of applied learning who are capable of responding to global reforms and challenges.
Xiao Zhisong pointed out that joint efforts of both institutions have yielded positive results. He hoped that the highly efficient and sincere cooperation between the two institutions will lead to sustainable high-quality development of education in both countries.

Mallik Sundharam and Jeremy Fine, Vice President of Finance, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Illinois Tech, presented to Guo Fu and Xiao Zhisong souvenir plaques to mark the successful cooperation between the two institutions.

Both institutions discussed matters concerning future cooperation. Illinois Tech delegation members will meet with BISTU faculty and students and hold roadshows on cooperative projects.

Delegation members of Illinois Tech also included Mariam Thomas, Assistant Vice President - International Affairs, and its China representatives. The meeting and discussions were joined by directors of BISTU Department of Academic Affairs, Department of Finance, Department of International Affairs, etc.
