The summer program on English academic writing and publications was organized by University of Cambridge. BISTU faculties and students have for many times visited the University of Cambridge for academic exchange purposes. The online summer program was the very first try in terms of online student exchange and communication programs. With a variety of means including lectures, Q&A, seminars, self-learning, and practice, the program covered all sections of academic research and publication of academic journals, including writing a research proposal, literature review, structure of academic journals, norms and standards of academic language, etc. Interest and enthusiasm of students in academic research have been greatly boosted.

The online program on artificial intelligence theory and practice was organized by University of Missouri (Kansas City). Based on joint cultivation of students in the field of artificial intelligence, it was the second year in a row that University of Missouri has organized summer programs for BISTU students. The program lasted two weeks and accommodated 52 students from the area of engineering and information technology. With lectures, group practices, and online tour of labs, the Program was composed of over 20 various activities. Students have systematically learned about artificial intelligence tools, artificial intelligence neural networks, computer vision, deep learning, neural network-based neuroscience of language, etc. Lectures provided by professionals covered application of artificial intelligence in buildings and medical areas. Students have obtained an in-depth understanding of the applications and prospect of artificial intelligence and effectively strengthened their competences in verbal expression and team coordination.

Facing with the new requirements and changing situations of covid-19 pandemic, the University has taken initiative in organizing and promoting online exchange programs. As of today, over 330 BISTU students have attended more than ten online programs organized by the University. The number of students attending international exchange and communication program has reached the level of pre-pandemic periods, symbolizing that a solid foundation has been laid for achieving the goal of educational globalization during the 14th Five Year Plan.
