Beijing, 26th September 2023 (BISTU)--- To learn and implement the philosophy of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speeches, facilitate integration between sci-tech and industries, strengthen technology in equipment operation and maintenance, promote international academic exchange and communication, and explore improvement of reliability of equipment, the first International Conference on Equipment Intelligent Operation and Maintenance (ICEIOM2023), sponsored by Maintenance Branch CMES (China Mechanical Engineering Society) and co-organized by BISTU, Beihang University, and Anhui University, commenced on 21st September and successfully concluded in Hefei on 23rd September 2023.
Themed on “Intelligence empowers maintenance and operation; innovation shapes the future”, ICEIOM2023 aimed at building platforms of exchange and communication, sharing resources, and publishing academic research achievements. Professor Wang Liyong of BISTU, Deputy Director of Maintenance Branch CMES & Director of Beijing Municipal Key Lab of Electromechanical Engineering Test and Control & Deputy Director of BISTU Human Resources Office, was the chairman of ICEIOM2023 attended by a number of faculties and students of BISTU.
The opening ceremony was chaired by Prof. Yan Ruqiang of Xi’an Jiaotong University and addressed by Vice President Qian Jiasheng of Anhui University, followed by a keynote speech delivered by Prof. Lin Jing of Beihang University.
A series of keynote reports were delivered, i.e., “Artificial self-healing empowers intelligent maintenance” by Academician Gao Jinji of Chinese Academy of Engineering (professor of Beijing University of Chemical Technology), Machine Condition Diagnosis using Machine Learning: A Journey by Professor Asoke K. Nandi of Brunel University London, Intelligent Maintenance through Big Data Analytics by Professor Robert X. Gao of Case Western Reserve University, and Knowledge, Information and Data (KID)-Informed Operation and Maintenance (IOM) by Professor Enrico Zio of Paris Sciences & Lettres-PSL University.
The Conference had 21 sub-forums centering on issues like artificial intelligence, deep transfer learning, diagnosis of equipment errors, liability, etc. attended by over 500 experts and scholars from China, the USA, the UK, France, etc. It also invited 32 industry experts to deliver feature reports on new technologies, new working plans, new schemes, new theories, and latest applications of intelligent maintenance and operation. Authors of 150 papers shared their exploration and practices in intelligent maintenance and operation.
The first International Conference on Equipment Intelligent Operation and Maintenance (ICEIOM2023) has gained extensive attention from scholars and experts home and abroad and attracted over 23,000 attendees online. It publicized and promoted the ideas and concepts of intelligent maintenance and operation.
In addition to building a platform of exchange and communication between Chinese experts and scholars and their counterparts in other parts of the world, the Conference also provided beneficial reference and support with development of intelligent equipment industry and with high quality development of related academic disciplines at BISTU.
