Beijing, 15th April, 2015(BISTU)--- Unitec Institute of Technology delegation headed by Dr. Liz Rainsbury, Head of Department for Accounting and Finance , visited BISTU to discuss on how to conduct cooperative agreement between BISTU and Unitec, formally signed by both presidents on an earlier stage. Vice President Feng Xichun met the delegation.

Following the warm welcome, Feng Xichun introduced about BISTU in the respect of education, scientific research, international cooperation, etc. He hoped that the two institutions would work even closer in the future with regard to student and faculty exchange and joint research projects. Dr. Rainsbury offered a brief introduction Unitec, followed by the hope that the two institutions could start cooperation from the area of finance and accounting to lay a solid foundation for future fruitful cooperation.
Founded in 1976, Unitec Institute of Technology is the largest state-own institute of technology. It is located in Auckland with its three campuses, with the main campus only ten minutes’ drive from city business center. Bachelor holder of Unitec could be exempted from IELTS when applying for master programmes at the institute. While learning, students can also apply for local work permit to obtain hands-on experiences. With a focus on practice and application, Unitec strives to enhance students’ competence in employment and this is the root of its high employment rate of graduating students.

After the meeting, Dr. Rainsbury conducted discussions with BISTU School of Economics and Management on the planned projects. Details have been largely confirmed in projects to be conducted this autumn, including the students exchange programme and credit transfer programmes.
The meeting and discussion were also attended by Dr. Lu Jing, Director of International Cooperation Department, Prof. Ge Xinquan, Dean of School of Economics and Management and Vice Dean Qu Li.
