
Beijing, 30th May 2023 (BISTU)--- Vice President Xiao Zhisong met with Rector Vasiliev Artyom Igorevich of Moscow University for Industry and Finance “Synergy” (hereafter referred to as “Synergy University”) on 29th May 2023 at Taihanglu Campus. The Synergy University was among the first cohort of international institutions that the University received at Taihanglu Campus and it was also the very first Russian university delegation visiting BISTU in recent years. The meeting and discussion was chaired by Director Qu Li of International Cooperation Department (Dean of School of International Education).

Xiao Zhisong extended warm welcome to the Synergy University delegation and offered a brief introduction to BISTU. He pointed out that China and Russia were largest neighbors and all-round cooperative partners to each other. With joint efforts of state leaders, cooperation between the two countries were going further and expanding to more fields. Xiao Zhisong expressed that both BISTU and the Synergy University were dedicated to cultivation of high quality talents of applied learning with distinctive feature in information technology, which indicated sound foundation for cooperation. BISTU welcomed students of the Synergy University for short or long term exchange studies and was expecting to explore communication and cooperation in a broader spectrum of areas.
Rector Vasiliev Artyom Igorevich offered an introduction to the Synergy University with focus on talent cultivation in the field of information technology. He commented that it was a pleasure to visit BISTU and he was expecting to conduct exchange and cooperation with BISTU. Vasiliev pointed out that there was a huge demand of information technology talents in Russia. The Synergy University has been dedicated to strengthen competitiveness of talents of information technology and would like to explore a variety of cooperative projects with BISTU in the field of joint cultivation of talents, faculty exchange, international internship, cooperative research programs, and joint academic conferences. With regard to 2+2 project, i.e., students of the Synergy University coming to BISTU for 2 years’ study, Vasiliev said that he would urge staff members of Faculty of Information Technologies to initiate course mapping with BISTU School of Computer Science so as to launch the project in a timely manner.
Dean Li Ning of Computer Science School introduced the School and other similar 2+2 projects based at the School. Both institutions also conducted discussions on Sino-foreign joint running programs and summer schools.

Delegation members of the Synergy University included Director Anna Khorlina of Rector’s Office and Director Vera Rudenko of International Development. Deputy Director of Development Strategy and Planning Office of BISTU also attended the meeting.
