Online Guidance Provided for AACSB at School of Economics and Management

Beijing, 14th November 2022 (BISTU)--- Online guidance was provided for AACSB accreditation at School of Economics and Management on 11th November 2022. Professor Viput Ongsakul from NIDA Business School, as a member of peer review team of AACSB accreditation, attended the online meeting and offered online guidance. The meeting was also attended by Vice President Fang Deying, deans and secretaries of School of Economics and Management, team members of AACSB accreditation, and faculty representatives and was chaired by Vice Dean Yin Jielin of the School. 

 

 

Fang Deying extended warm welcome and sincere gratitude to Professor Viput Ongsakul for his online guidance. He produced an introduction to BISTU including accomplishment of the three historical missions, i.e., construction and relocation of the New Campus, approval of doctoral degree programs, and new breakthroughs in academic research, and the series of celebrations on the 85th anniversary of the University. He expressed that Management Science and Engineering at School of Economics and Management would very possibly be granted the qualification for the award of doctoral degree. It was expected that Professor Viput Ongsakul would provide due support for AACSB accreditation at the School. He also raised some requests on detailed work of AACSB accreditation.  

Executive Vice Dean Jin Chunhua offered an introduction to the team responsible for AACSB accreditation at the School and delivered a report on the strategy of highlighting information technology feature of the School, improving educational quality, raising research quality, and offering social service as well as detailed support to be provided with AACSB accreditation. Based on the five-year plan of the University, Liao Ganli delivered a report on standardized learning, campus environment, faculty development, and curricula settings at School. Xue Yanyan, a member of AACSB accreditation team, provided a detailed report on latest progress in AACSB accreditation and in iSER.  

  

Professor Viput Ongsakul spoke highly of preparations for AACSB accreditation at the School and provided valuable feedbacks on progress with iSER as well as suggestions on faculty development, mission of the School, innovation, and AOL assessment.  

  

School of Economics and Management commented that the meeting has further clarified issues concerning AACSB accreditation and carried important implications for facilitation of AACSB accreditation at the School.
