Beijing, 16th May 2023 (BISTU)---Headed by Vice President Xiao Zhisong, BISTU delegation conducted survey at Future Science City on 15th May 2023 and met with Deputy Secretary Wei Zhendong of CPC General Administration Office Committee of the Future Science City (Director of Organizational and HR Department) and Director Song Yanming of the General Administration Office. The delegation members included faculties of Academic Affairs Office, International Cooperation Department, School of Foreign Studies, and School of Applied Sciences of BISTU as well as faculties of academic affairs offices of other universities inclusive of Beihang University, Beijing Normal University, Central University of Finance and Economics, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, China University of Mining and Technology Beijing, etc.
Xiao Zhisong and delegation members visited exhibition hall of Future Science City and were informed of construction background and general planning. Then they learned about state-owned enterprises currently based in the Future Science City in respect of their R&D, talent introduction, and business operation, followed by a tour in the base for electronic network security and informationization. And they also visited Sany Heavy Industry Group and explored possible approached of joint-cultivation of talents.
Xiao Zhisong extended thanks to Future Science City and state-owned enterprises for the support with the survey. He expressed that Future Science City was equipped with advantages in industries, sciences, and education as well as flexible mechanism of collaboration. It was hoped that BISTU would strengthen cooperation with City-based enterprises to promote integrated cultivation of talents so as to provide talent-related support with building Beijing as a center of science and innovation.
Members of Shahe University City Consortium explored issues concerning joint bases for internship of students at the Future Science City. They exchanged experiences and practices regarding field teaching and student internship and produced suggestions on resources sharing. They hoped that a long-term mechanism would be established with Future Science City and related enterprises to provide support with student internship and field teaching.
Future Science City has attracted a number of enterprises, including companies of new generation of information technology based on big data, cloud computing, and internet of things, featured companies in the field of aeronautics and astronautics, and companies of emerging industries in new energy and biomedicine. BISTU would strengthen collaboration with City-based enterprises. Taking the opportunity of working as the lead institution in building State-level virtual teaching research room in the City, BISTU would facilitate sharing of resources and field teaching base and build a new pattern of cultivation for high quality innovative talents.
