Wang Yongsheng Attends Inauguration Ceremony of Beijing Advanced Innovation Center for Integrated Circuits

Beijing, 19th February 2022 (BISTU)—— BISTU delegation headed by President Wang Yongsheng attends the inauguration ceremony of Beijing Advanced Innovation Center for Integrated Circuits established on 19th February 2022 in Beijing. The members of BISTU delegation includes Vice President Chen Xin, Director Zhang Jian of Office for Scientific Research, Professor Zhu Lianqing of MOE Key Lab, and faculties of Office for Scientific Research.  

 

The inauguration ceremony is hosted by Academician Zhang Pingwen (Vice President of Peking University) and attended by Director Liu Yuhui of Beijing Municipal Education Commission, President Hao Ping of Peking University, President Qiu Yong of Tsinghua University, President Huang Ru of Southeast University (academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, professor of Peking University, and Director of the Center), and Academician You Zheng of Chinese Academy of Engineering (professor of Tsinghua University, Director of the Center, and President of Huazhong University of Science and Technology). The Center is unveiled by Deputy Director Liu Hang of Beijing Municipal Commission of Science and Technology.  

 

Beijing Advanced Innovation Center for Integrated Circuits is the second university-based advanced innovation center approved by Beijing Municipal Education Commission. It is led by Peking University and Tsinghua University with sponsorship of BISTU and related research institutions and companies. It is an important move serving the national key strategy in integrated circuits. The Center will be focusing on technological research and cultivation of high-end talents in integrated circuits.   

Beijing Municipal Education Commission has initiated a number of advanced innovation centers aiming at guiding universities in serving the demand of key national strategies in technological innovation from fundamental theories to innovative technologies. In the near future, around 10 innovation centers on municipal level will be established based on universities in Beijing in respect of new generation information technology, biomedicine, nutrition and health, peak carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutral, intelligent equipment manufacturing, etc.    

Based on the guideline of the third BISTU Party Congress and the 14th Five Year Plan, the University has successfully seized the opportunity of participating in and contributing to Beijing Advanced Innovation Center for Integrated Circuits. A series of efforts have been made in respect of research in respect of photo electronic integrated chips, MEMS devices, infrared sensors.
