Beijing, 12th June 2024 (BISTU)--- The signing ceremony for cooperation between BISTU and Changping District Education Commission, attended by Vice Mayor Wang Jian of Changping District, Director Su Junshan of Changping District Education Commission, and Chairman Xie Jiangling of BISTU University Council and chaired by Vice President Xiao Zhisong, was held on 12th June 2024 at Shahe Campus.

Xie Jiangling expressed thanks to Changping District for the long-standing support with BISTU. Following an introduction to BISTU in respect of historical development, educational features, and new achievements made in recent years, he expressed that Changping District has attached great importance to educational development, boosted development of new quality productive forces, and made contributions to high quality development of Beijing. He pointed out that the agreement is a mutual-beneficial exploration for both parties. It would further promote the in-depth integration of BISTU and Changping District in talent cultivation, sci-tech innovation, and social services. He stressed that BISTU would make BISTU-marked contributions to building a high-quality educational system in Changping District.

Wang Jian looked forward to successful cooperation of both parties in the future. He pointed out that Changping District government has been focusing on running education to the satisfaction of our people. It was hoped that academic strengths of BISTU would be brought into full play to promote high-quality, sustainable educational development in Changping. And Changping District would continue to provide high-level, high-efficiency, high-standard service with high-quality development of BISTU.

Su Junshan pointed out that the agreement is an actual move of Changping District and BISTU in following the guidance of President Xi Jinping on education, i.e., “furthering reform in education, speeding up its modernization, and developing education that people are satisfied with”. It would become a model in facilitating the cooperation between Changping and other Changping-based universities.

Witnessed by Wang Jian and Xie Jiangling, Su Junshan and Xiao Zhisong signed the agreement of cooperation on behalf of their respective institutions.

Chairman Guo Yinhui and Vice Dean Bai Xuefeng of School of Applied Technology explained the “digital competence” training class and the “summer camp of science and technology”. Chairman Zheng Yanqiu of Changping Vocational School briefed the progress of the cooperation between the School and BISTU.

A ceremony of appointment was also held on the meeting. Six BISTU teachers were appointed vice presidents of science and technology for primary and middle schools in Changping District.

Representatives of BISTU faculty and representatives of Changping-based high school principals exchange gifts of cooperation.

The meeting and signing ceremony was joined by Deputy Director Wang Tingting and Deputy Director Su Jie of Changping District Education Commission, directors of relating departments of Changping District Education Commission, administrators of Changping Vocational School, and representatives of principals of primary and middle schools based in Changping as well as Director Li Huatao of Organizational Department, directors of General Administration Office, Academic Affairs Office, Office for Scientific Research, Human Resources Office, Students Affairs Office, Office for Admissions and Career Consultation, International Cooperation Department, External Liaison Office, Labor Union, University Youth League Committee, and School of Applied Technology, and representatives of faculty and students of BISTU.
