Vice President Feng Xichun met DHBW delegation

Beijing, 16th April, 2015(BISTU)--- Vice President Feng Xichun, on behalf of BISTU, welcomed DHBW (Dualen Hochschule Baden-Württemberg) delegation headed by the President Professor Reinhold Geilsdörfer. The two universities reviewed importance of field practice on education of quality talents of applied learning and shared experiences and practices in field practice, with exploration on future cooperation in the respect of students’ innovation competence.

Founded in 2009, DHBW is a public university and it is also the very first one among German universities who successfully combined academic research with practical work and internship. Its headquarter is located in Stuttgart of Baden-Württemberg. As the largest educational institution with a student body of 34,000, DHBW offers more than 20 bachelor and master level programmes and modules covering more than 100 academic fields. DHBW is cooperating with about 9000 enterprises, including world famous ones like BMW, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bose, etc. The current Vice President of Porsche is an alumnus of DHBW.   

Vice President Feng Xihun warmly welcomed the delegation. DHBW’s mode of learning combined with working is very inspiring for BISTU in educating quality talents of applied learning. Regarding the hands-on competence and accumulation of practical experiences, BISTU could well learn from DHBW. Resources sharing in the field of school-enterprise cooperation could be explored when both institutions start to work together. Said Feng Xichun 

President Reinhold Geilsdörfer offered a detailed introduction to strengths of education of DHBW as well as features of Duale Hochschulen. For cooperation with BISTU, possibilities could be explored in the field of electronic technology, engineering, and business. Modules delivered in English have been embedded in business and Industry 4.0 related fields. For better understanding of Germany technology and industries, DHBW is flexible in re-organizing short-term modules.

The 11 people delegation also included Axel Gerloff, International Director of DHBW, Baden-Württemberg international officer, presidents of campuses of DHBW and chairs of departments.  The meeting was also attended by Dr. Lu Jing, Director of International Cooperation Department, Prof. Ge Xinquan, Dean of School of Economics and Management, Mi Jie, Deputy Director of Academic Affairs Office, and Chen Wenbai, Vice Dean of School of Automation.
